@hostagesoflife this was back in 2009. compleately stock engine with 9755miles / 15700km on it so probably it was starting getting bad. I just ran like this til the engine blew. Got fully built 2010. check the other vid =)

Hey man, About to start a turbo build myself. I'm just going to go the safe route and send the block off to get sleeved though. As far as the turbo system goes, Any preference between a greddy kit or turbonetics? They appear to be the same pipe routing and everything, Just different turbo I assume, any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.

@OneWithTheCam in this vid. engine is bone stock. now its fully built. Well I would highly recommend a tune! but i dont think that will solve ur overheating issue. check ur coolant and thermostat, also see if ur fans coming on correctly. do this at first. my advice

Now i have a 93 prelude si h23 motor. i want to put a turbo kit in it but idk if the engine will hold up. everything is stock. Advice?????

@bigrappainhc since ur H23 is lower compression stock it normally can handle a turbo setup on stock engine. tho not with crazy amount of boost (depends on what turbo).. First off, do a compression test and leakdown test. if those results turnes out fine, u can consider boost. if they're bad, u can, but u should expect a rebuild or swap further on. Best tip is to get it propper tuned! thats mostly the key for ur build duration.

@bigrappainhc remember, compression test shall be as equal on all for cyl to be good result. for example 180-185-180-175. top and lowrange can diff about 10psi/cyl to be a good result. hope u get what i mean. but if all 4 cyl are the same psi u dont need to worry. and 6-8psi of boost, well I know I know, it will end with 10-14psi.

just make sure, put MOST effort in getting it tuned by a good PRO!

as mentioned, the biggest part for build duration is in the tune.

@bigrappainhc most cars can handle 7psi safely. but dont plan on pushing your car to redline off every stop light. use the power smartly, otherwise youll blow your engine. and i agree. DONT EVEN RUN your turbo until you get it tuned. if you dont tune it, your just asking for trouble. you can install the turbo and keep the car under 3k rpms until you get to the shop. you dont want anything stupid to happen on the way to tuning it! i learned everything from past experiences. happy to help =)

ive got a 5th gen also , the pearl blue silver (its a factory color but its a really light silverish blue thats kinda hard 2 explain butn its more silver lol but they call it pearl blue silver or soemthing like that, im curious to what shift knob that is? U doesnt seem to know anything bout F/I. if u did, u should realise its NOT tuned, just a basemap chip to get it starting. AFR was 10.2 soooo does that say anything? only need new ARP headbolts and its ready to get dropped in. Still hate? watch my site at the link in the beginning. H22 at garaget.

well u should start with a leakdown test and compression test (if u gonna run stock engine). From that -> healthy engine u can consider turboing, if bad, dont do it, unless u can afford a compleate rebuild. how much are u about to spend? better off PM me instead if u got questions. cheers

well about 10 psi is safe anything higher than that could cause some damage. Alot of guys make about 290 whp with a turbo and 3 inch exhaust and a good tune off 8psi. And just fyi 5g ludes usually dyno factory around 160whp lol.... so yea 236 is quite a challenge on NA builds VTEC motors dont really like bolt ons so yeaaa. maybe if u had a JRSC u would be around 235whp

Im not from america. You are saying you have a same type SH which is american and comes with a h22a4 200hp engine. I have the JDM H22a S Spec Prelude. Which comes with port polishing etc etc. So I get 220hp. Are you talking about achieving 236 whp or hp in the engine? Engine wise that's easy but whp wise that's probably a challenge. Do you research on websites like preludeonline and preludepower??

i got EUDM prelude with 185hp stock. and im not sure if it was 220, about that i said, i didnt got it tuned in this vid, just a basemap @ 0.5bar. so my guess would be around 220. was driving later with 1bar and tune, was hella faster than in this vid
