@ulcohatchee1959 In all honesty, I hope we never see anything in comparison to the 1973 storm! I seem to recall that they had predicted only snow flurries for that day. They wound up having blizzard conditions by 10am that persisted into the afternoon hours!
What you heard at the end was indeed thunder. This storm produced lightning/thunder at a rate that I would normally only see in a supercell thunderstorm! I never thought I woud see/hear "thundersnow" in Georgia!
That's nothing, your friends in Tennessee get 15 inches every year.

Yea it was a nice snowfall, but it doesnt compare to the 73 snowfall in central Ga (18 to 25 inches)

i only seen thunder snow In Southern IL one 2 times .
