Quang -- I hope you realize how much your wonderful message means to us Vietnam vets. I think you do. Your kind of message is a kind of redemption for us. The presence of new Americans like you in the country we now share gives profound meaning to our experience in your former country and to the memory of our 58,000 fallen brothers.
@MrHdchandler - Thank you for your time today, Mr. Chandler. We both enjoyed meeting you and working with you. Let me know when and I will be there. Q.
I read the E-Mail version of your Speech. If that's the only resource people access, they're missing out on a lot of who you are! I am very grateful for this video and intend on sharing it as soon as I save this Comment!
Quang, I read the text of your speech and was moved. Now i have heard you speak and it is even more moving. Thanks for being a great American and also for being a friend. Al
Quang, I read the text of your speech and was moved. Now i have heard you speak and it is even more moving. Thanks for being a great American and als for being a friend. Al
You are a better American than many born here. I am very proud of you!
You explain the American concept very well. I wish you could give this speech in front of Congress with the president in the front row. You are so welcome here!
Quang, my true All American brother. I truly believe our Almighty God is using you in so many different ways. You have brought some healing to me personally as a hurting USMC VN, combat vet. I salute you my brother in arms & may God continue to richly bless the Quang, family. And I do salute the loyal hard fighting VN troops of the ROSVN! They to deserve very much needed HONOR! Semper Fi. Lastly this is Gil/Jim a fellow American Mexican!
Thank you my " AMERICAN FRIEND " God bless you from your friend and Vietnam Veteran. May you always keep up the suport of " OUR COUNTRY " You help to make it greatest place in all our hearts. Maurice Brown Semper Fi !
I thank you Mr. Nyguen. My brother lost his life in VN in 1967. People like you make me believe that there was a reason for him passing...I salute you
Thank you Mr. Nguyen, for your courage, for what you lived through, for your patriotism and pride in our great nation, The United States of America! Blessings & safety to you, and I'm proud to know you and call you my friend! And lastly, thank you for this GREAT presentation! Semper Fi! :)
I left Vietnam in 1971, but Vietnam has never left me. I still wear the golden medal of the Duc Me, which was given to me by a Buddhist friend. God bless all Vietnamese and allies, living and dead, who served.
I Salute you Sir! Thank you! I belong to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Alamo Chapter 366 and in the past few months the Vietnamese Armed Forces Veterans and us have reached out to each other and meet regularly for social events and it is a great camaraderie that we enjoy.
We became friends then and there. On September 11, Quang invited me to help put up flags with the local VFW (which has sort of adopted Quang) and American Legion. My daughter and I spent the rest of the day with Q and his family at a 9/11 memorial and then at a Warriors Pow-Wow honoring veterans. Quang doesn't just give a good speech, he is a truly great person. I am honored to call him a friend. Love ya bro! - Roger ... long story on my youtube name, I'll tell you over coffee ;)
I have watched this video many times and have shared it with friends and facebook veterans pages I am a part of. I watch, even though I was lucky enough to be present at this Freedom Rally and was standing just behind the camera recording this great man. I met Quang just before the rally started, met his children as they helped with setting up chairs, and had the chance to talk with him after the event, and after he spoke with the many Vietnam vets that waited their turn to talk to him...
Thanks-nice speech. America paid a huge sacrifice in dollars and soldiers lives (58,000) to keep S.Vietnam free. Glad to see Quang is grateful. If you go to Garden Grove in Orange Co. or to San Jose, CA (called Little Saigon's) you'll think you’re in Vietnam (the Westminster city council even flies a Vietnamese flag at their meetings). Most Vietnamese are proud Republicans too (the Dem's stopped the war). Also, if you haven't tried Vietnamese food, you don't know what you're missing
Saturday, 9/25/10. WOW. WOW. WOW. Quang Nguyen, you rock!! What a powerful, powerful speech. You made me laugh, cry and cheer. Did you hear me, as I stood in front of my computer monitor clapping and cheering at the top of my lungs? You have an amazing gift for public speaking! Please Quang, run for office, any office. Just run! Run, run, run! America needs more REAL Americans, like you! May God continue to richly bless you and may His hand guide your future.
Thank you for your inspiring words, Mr. Nguyen. I never once regretted my service in Vietnam, even though there are still people in our country who curse me & the millions of other Veterans FOR that service. Your inspiring words, your sense of humor and your grace under what I know were horrible conditions have now made me realize even MORE fully that we did the right thing by being there; and YOU Sir, are living proof of that. Great talking to you on the phone today & God bless you always!
Oh my goodness, what a refreshing video with an amazing man. I loved loved loved it!! You speak the truth and I am so happy that you love us! We are the greatest nation and I hope we stay that way. God bless you patriot, this is going into my favorites!!! We are blessed to have you here!!
Yes I did and I loved it. He has an enormous sense of humor! He is speaking from experience and knows what he is saying! We are so use to listening to others throw off on our country and this is like a shot in the arm of pride.
Dear Quang, This was very touching. The story about your encounter with the vet at the gas station made my eyes well up a little too. Too few soldiers who answered the call of their country received the honor they deserved when they returned home. Expressions of gratitude must make their service meaningful. You are in an excellent position to represent the Patriot Network as you are, in every sense of the word, a true patriot. God bless.
"America is not a place, not a physical location. America is a state of mind." Beautiful !! Quang, I salute YOU ! "This country is about FREEDOM, not FREE STUFF." Perfect. We have the gift of freedom, won by lives lost to protect us. We OWE our country, our country doesn't OWE US. "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for YOUR COUNTRY !" We must STAND UP for this nation and it's principles. It can be EASILY lost if we don't. / Humbled by Quang
God bless all the immigrants that come here legally, learn to speak the language, and better themselves through hard work and devotion...May you keep coming and making this country the most wonderful place on earth....All you vets from any war where you laid your life on the line for freedom for others - This is your victory...This is why...And God Bless and keep all of you.
As I continue to listen I become more and more impressed, little brother. You are an amazing individual. Proud to call you a brother American. It would be a privilege to meet you on day before I leave this life. Obama could learn much from you as could the rest of our so-called legislators. They have no clue. God bless you and keep you safe. Speak on and never let them forget!
For a long time I hated Vietnamese because of the time I spent there, '67, '68. Then I thought about someon showing up in in my country, telling me what to do, shooting at my neighbors, family, etc. Sudden realiztion and forgiveness was wonderful. I'm proud of you for coming here and becoming one of us the right way. You are a symbol of what can be accomplished with some work and a desire to do it right, not just because you want it no matter what the rules. Welcome, brother.
You are what America is all About! You did it the right way and we welcome you for your hard work and it is a priveledge to have you here. God bless you !
Dear Quang, You are the reason I served in Vietnam. I am so glad you made it here and those that followed. You made me remember why I did not object going to Vietnam. I love the people.
just got to hear the video on Mr. Quang. His acknowledgement for the services of the Vietnam Veterans does make me feel good about his opportunities. Although, One Key Point Mr. Quang should attempt to make.......is to serve his New Country , The United States of America, in the Armed Forces.....Hopefully The United States Marine Corps!!!
Every Good Citizen Is Needed To Serve Their Country. That Assures Us of An Armed Force
Dear Quang, it is people like you who make America great. I am proud to see someone who has come from a place where your freedoms were non-existent, appreciate what this nation has to offer, and then be willing to give back to your new country. It was an honor and blessing to hear what you had to say. You help America be what it was always intended to be. God bless you.
Dear Quang: It is because of grateful refugees like you...who have come here and struggled...assimilated...became American citizens...and have become successful in your own rights, that I have NEVER REGRETTED one day of my service in your native land. This veteran deeply appreciates your thoughts and wishes you and your family continued success. I thank you for saluting me and my brothers-in-arms. God Bless America for we are... One Nation Under God!
