  • Who's the other announcer besides Jim Ross? Sounds kinda like Tony Schiavone if he had a southern accent...

  • @hat301 Bob Caudle, the announcer for Mid Atlantic Wrestling during the territories erea.

  • Mean Mark was a bad ass the original Undertaker gimic was a fucking Joke people!

  • @ebz1221 really? the original Undertaker gimmick is the reason why people even know his name today...the deadman gimmick wuz legendary ur crazy

  • @ebz1221 if you were just joking then never mind.

  • @ebz1221 are you serious?

  • @ebz1221 Agree

  • @ebz1221 The Undertaker gimic was a huge disappiontment.Fuckin Vince and his cartoon characters.Mean Mark had size and agility and they turned into a corpse, and a lame one at that.

  • WoW undertaker use to where wrestling tights lol!!!

  • Taker was a badass from the gate..

  • @violinsofangels, yeah you're right, it is difficult to tell the difference between people saying idiotic that is if they are fact, and people who are being sarcastic. I'll just assume they're one in the same from now on. Have a nice day.

  • 0_o undertaker's a highflyer

  • I'm giving Taker the heart punch on SvR asap!

  • Taker is a Paul Heyman guy..

  • Taker was doing a little Bruiser Brody "HUFFF" there for a while as Pilman was against the turnbuckles.

  • When the Undertaker was the American Bad A@# gimmick, they put some of his WCW stuff onto the This is My Yard tape.

  • Undertaker without his popular outfit looked pretty weird lol.

  • @chipsamy yeah I know what you mean..lol

  • It is Jim Ross @viollinsofangels

  • at the end of takers career, will wwe put this in taker dvd, or will try to make people forget about this time

  • @77danigga i think they will not admit that this was him because they like to work the fans and not admit any gimmicks that were not Taker'.

  • sounds like jim ross

  • @smokingchu what have you been smoking? It sounds nothing like Jim Ross.

  • @violinsofangels What are YOU smoking, that is as a matter of fact Jim Ross. Know your wrestling.

  • @mikeyjwf I wouldn't expect an idiot like you to understand sarcasm, I bet you even ate a cookie thinking you'd got one over on someone, pathetic moron.

  • he's a Paul Heyman guy..

  • He was imposing then, intimidating now. Taker looks weird without being tatted up.

  • 'Taker was a pretty decent worker 22 years ago.

  • Paul heyman was his manager lol

  • 32: hes pointing exactly on his nose

  • WOW! He did the awesome flying lariat in WCW, too??

  • @whoo689 He was doing it long before he was in WCW. I know he was doing it back during his days in the USWA (1988-1989), maybe even sooner. Unfortunately the only WCCW (1984-1988) footage of him that I've seen is his [supposed] debut against the late Bruiser Brody and he gets squashed in it. So not exactly sure when he started doing flying lariats, but definitely at least during his USWA years.

  • The RED Devil, indeed!

  • damn undertaker with panties and no tatoo... shocking LOL

  • @destroyerwod rofl lol

  • is that paul heyman??

  • @PLBIV yes it is

  • @PLBIV yes, he has been in the game for a long time.

  • Undertaker is pretty good "pure" wrestler, though I don't know how to necessarily use that correctly. He's known for the Tombstone and that's his trademark like the Stone Cold stunner and Triple H's pedigree, but Undertaker also uses so many different moves. He doesn't just beat the hell out of his opponent, you can tell that when he's wrestling every move is a thought process. Its like a slow execution. He doesn't just do an Attitude Adjustment or something that's his "move".

  • I was just watching a green Triple H wrestle a match in WCW 'cause I wanted to see how he wrestled then compared to today, but hell, 13 seconds into this and I already see Undertaker has been Undertaker for many many years. Using the same moves and everything.

  • june 13 1990,

  • Later that year, former NWA World Champion Terry Funk introduced Bollea to the company chief Vincent J. McMahon, who was impressed with his charisma and physical stature. McMahon, who wanted to use an Irish name, gave Bollea the last name Hogan.

  • wwf got all of their champs from wcw

  • @shizeninho yeah but not shawn micheals ,the rock.bret hart .hulk hogan.randy savage and mannnnyyyyyy more

  • @Theawesome1rumiz shawn worked matches in wcw territories before going to wwf, so did savage and hogan

  • @shizeninho what r u talking about hogans first match in wwf was in 1979 and wcw started on 1982 so hogan savage and shawn was on wwf first

  • @Theawesome1rumiz

WCW goes a bit farther back than that

  • @Theawesome1rumiz Jim Barnett, who had worked for the World Championship Wrestling promotion in Australia, came to Atlanta in the 1970s during an internal struggle over the NWA Georgia territory. Barnett wound up as the majority owner of the territory, and he wound up using the name for the territory's television program in 1982.

So as you see, the company was originally the NWA before the name changed. Before hogan came to the wwf he was in the NWA

  • 7:21 WUT?

  • I never knew the Undertaker was a Paul E. guy!

  • WCW screwed up on letting Mean Mark go. Jeez

  • Good ol Jr

  • a man of his size doing a dropkick is just so wrong

  • Great match, and it's obvious that Mark Calaway was going to be a huge star no matter what gimmick he was given. I'd almost say that the slow, stiff movement he adopted in his early time as The Undertaker in WWF actually disguised his natural agility and talent.

  • WCW had The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, HHH, and Mick Foley, and did almost nothing with any of them. And they would become 4 of the biggest stars in wrestling history in WWE.

The only one of those guys that really got a prominent singles feud (somewhat) in WCW was Foley as Cactus Jack vs String. WCW did nothing with the rest of them.

  • @DaringDirk100 But they did something with Goldberg and Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.. It's very difficult to compete with WWF.. Lets be honest here. They had the brand recognitition with Vince Mcmahon.. WCW although a great show, was destined to not win! But they still were very innovational, and i personally felt better than WWF.

  • @stockmaster1982 innovational is a pretty innovative word mang

  • @DaringDirk100 HHH wouldnt have gone anywhere if he wasnt best friends with nash and hbk and didnt sleep his way to the top

  • @ifoundululz

You're an idiot. HHH is good in the ring, great in the mic, over HUGE with the fans whether he's a face or a heel (you know this if you're ever been to a live WWE event), and has a great mind for the business. He would have become the top guy even if he had no friends in the company, and never dated Steph. Moron.

  • @DaringDirk100 Uh, I have actually. HHH is a horrible COO not that good on the mic, hes a decent wrestler, he'll never be a Kurt Angle or Bret Hart. They are amazing he sucks

  • @ifoundululz

Wrong. He may not be as good as Angle or Hart, but he's still a very good wrestler..

  • @DaringDirk100 not that good on the mic, maybe in todays stands but hes not all that great

  • @DaringDirk100 Dont forget they had Kane as well

  • i remember watching mean mark mangle every one he faced, on nwa pro (with lance russle) and as a clued up 11 year old i had one thought. why is he not one of the top guys. still it all worked out in the end.second greatest of all time.

  • hahahahaha omg

  • Was that Mike Tenay that announced the wrestlers at the start?

  • wow brings back memories, i also had this recorded at one time, wasn't sid vicious punked in about 20 seconds by luger on this show and i believe one of kevin nash's early gimmicks as one half of the master blaster is on here as well

  • @bullybrew yeah I believe Luger beat Sid in record time lol. Vicious jumps luger from behind, then turns his back on luger who then gives him a clothesline and a quick pin.

  • @EQgamer4life it was definately a match between 2 of the worst workers ever in the biz, thank god kevin nash wasn't there to help stink the joint up. i'm pretty sure sid was at his best when he was just coming out and destroying people in ecw. enter, powerbomb, leave. that formula worked for him.

  • its crazy how JR is commentating a match where perhaps THEE greatest wrestler of all time(undertaker) who is also being accompanied to the ring by the mad scientist and innovator or godfather of hardcore and leader of the hardcore revolution(paul heyman) back in WCW. CRAZY. lol

  • Who would have though back then that they were seeing WWE's biggest legend and one of the biggest Icons in Pro wrestling of ALL TIMES

  • this was recorded from a vhs i have alot of old skool videos i grew up recording wrestling

  • i think the undertaker has now more abilitys than in the past.....he is learning the whole decade and he is one of the rare wrestlers who change few years his signature moves.....

  • When Mean Mark became the Undertaker he did a dropkick. It was in a match vs Mankind. Taker dropkicks steel steps into his face, cant remember the match though but its on the Tombstone dvd

  • Mean Mark...Undertaker...Niceeee Vid...I didnt know Mean Mark was in the NWA!!!

  • Even when his Character was not that of the Undertaker. He still was Mean.

  • @socalkev. HELL YEAH!!!

  • Wow, I couldn't recognize Undertaker without the tattoos! I think one of the announcers is Jim Ross.

    Respect to Pillman.

  • Mean Mark does drop kicks. Taker does not? Has anyone seen taker do a drop kick?

  • @PhillyGirl1 i believe ur right

  • Mean Mark has to be the most agile man for his size during his prime

  • Brilliant match, gotta love early 90s WCW.

  • undertaker looks a tall ass chris benoit

  • He should've used the heart punch in the WWE. It would've been fitting for his character.

  • @DojoEDM Tombstone is better.

  • @PrinceOfNsanity Did I even say he should use it as his finisher???

  • @DojoEDM I also didn't say anything about the Heart Punch finisher. I just said Tombstone is more devastating but true Undertaker has some killer punches and the Heart Punch is more dangerous then it seems. It'd be cool if he still did it I'm sure he has done it from time to time in WWE but not as a main move. They may have had to ban it or something. A good move for him though true.

  • taker has allways been over rated if it wasnt for the undertaker gimmick he really wasnt that special.

  • "LUGER TAKE A GOOD LOOOOK!!" lol

  • Dunno why I ever liked Flyin' Brian - what a killer mullet.

  • was mean mark in that wcw video game that came out in 1990 i frogot the games name though

  • undertaker with paul heyman damn!

  • Awesome match, awesome song at the start, RIP Brian. Taker bought it to him though this match.

  • 'mean' mark vs 'flying' brian. So er, who is the heel and who is the face here?

  • @sasfcps Brian is the face here and Mark is the heel.

  • hey he didnt wear thembengal trunk

  • Haha, I forgot Jim Ross was a WCW commentator. Does anyone have the match when Pillman was in WWE where he faces Double J Jesse James (AKA Road Dogg)?

  • new Brian Pillman <<Brain Kendrick

  • I remember my tape of this clash got about this bad. then my vcr broke. got another one. then this tape gave out.

  • Brian Pillman > Shawn Michaels.

  • His... his... tattoos.... he has none.... O.O Man, I'm so used to seeing them.

  • One rhymes and one is alliteration! Neat-o!

  • RIP Brian Pillman

  • stun gun beat everybody in NWA/ early WCW

  • golden

  • Good Ol JR!!! Biscuitts and gravy

  • who dislikes these things? what were they expecting?

  • @laughorcrytv don't know but 3 people didn't find what they were looking for.

  • Good old JR on commentary

  • Do i hear JR?? lol I might b crazy but it sounds lyk him a little...

  • @Babiiface12 It IS him.

  • @TheChromanoise ok im not crazy lol

  • Undertaker stole Marks moves!

  • @Daraymann hope you're being sarcastic or funny, cause it is him!!!

  • That mean mark gonna certainly be a big name for sure

  • That Mean Mark Callaway has some potential, if he finds the right gimmick then look out!

  • TAKE A GOOD LOOOOK!!!!!!

  • Sweet heart punch at 0:04. Old school.

  • Taker reminds me of Mike Awesome here lol

  • anyone knows what is the song at the beginning?

  • 0:20 The undertaker make a DROPKICK!!

  • i remember this mtch as kid, all i remember is the pillman chops marijuanas a hell of a drug

  • Wow. Had no clue that Heyman managed Taker back in the day.

  • Wow, haven't seen the heart punch in years.

  • he looks so weird wearing no trousers! PUT SOME DAMN PANTS ON!!

  • I think the funniest thing about this video, is that Mark had no tattoos, lol.

  • I <3 anything Taker!! :) Thanks for posting!

  • the road to wrestling lead though WCW.

  • nice to see undertaker so young ^^ cool cool

  • Interesting how Paul Heyman used to manage The Undertaker (technically speaking).

  • How weird is it to see Mark with no tattoos? Nice to see Brian Pillman again, he is missed.

  • He was a mean sonofabitch!!

  • holy crap Paul E Dangerously is Paul Heyman

  • mean mark 6'9" 320 then he grew and inch and a half when he went to wwe o_0

  • mean mark actually wrestled sting at a live event once according to a few websites.

so if taker v sting actually did happen, it wouldn't be the first time they wrestled each other

  • Got to love that old school shitty VHS quality! :-)

  • from gary michael cappetta to jr and heenan wcw always had the best broadcast package

  • That's Paul Heyman right

  • looking back at this now why was i scared of mean mark calious i remember him being so devastating

  • LOL at Taker shouting to the camera :D

  • good match

  • No disrespect to the wrestlers, but, Mean Mark and Flyin' Brian sound like such generic, uncreative ring names. It's like the names of wrestlers in an Intellevision wrestling game.

  • @spinemelter2000 this WAS 1990 after all.

  • taker was young and jim

  • 6:34 BEST DROP KICK EVER

  • It's weird seeing Taker wearing trunks.

  • RIP Brain PILLMAN.

  • Remember when if you threw somebody over the top ring rope you got disqualified in the WCW?!

  • damn if only wcw had the marketing . the action was way better than wwe at any time the just didnt know how to market themselves properly damn shame rip wcw

  • did the undertaker come out with paul heyman?

  • Great Fight!

  • @jlcochran I want to slap you so hard in the face just for sayin' that

  • @jlcochran you must be some 12 year old kid who fancies cena and the rest of that nexus crap. seriosly just dont talk at all.

  • @genosynca nexus could be anyone in wcw end of story

  • @jlcochran nexus wouldnt even make it into wcw, thats was where the boy play for a reason, little boy. go watch cena do his crappy moves in the ring.

  • @jlcochran well aren't you just a fucking moron?

  • @jlcochran Brian Pillman made the ATTITUDE ERA way before Steve Austin was Stone Cold and the rock Pillman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>todays retards if you think all of todays wrestling is now full of fucking retards GIMME A HELL YEAH!!!!

  • @jlcochran "Can't tell if troll or just stupid....."

  • @adamluce Back to the Future LOL

  • WCW sure had some lame wrestler names. "Mean Mark." Come on. At least he was able to show he had something and eventually went on to much better things in WWF.

  • is that jim ross talkn

  • @Traxstaa1 Yep, he didn't come to WWF till 1993 at Wrestlemani 9

  • LOL.....Paul Heyman with hair...

  • Taker was ridiculously agile for his size back then.

  • according to one idiot here, everyone gets their start in WWE. Are you kiddin me. Everyone works their way up and this is proof. what a mark.

  • Wow, Paul Heyman managed Taker and later managed Brock. Now look at the Brock and Taker shit going on lol funny stuff. Paul Heyman is the greatest.
