did someone turn the 45 down to 33 1/3 or am i having a qualude flashback? Either way, this was a waste of my time. I'm gonna go check out some Grateful Dead.
Damit i was so born in the wrong time.Well fuck it.If Anstaien said that time is Relativ thats means thats fucken time dosent man shit!Lets fucken bring the best fucken times of all times if it even exsists
"Bertha " from Dick's Picks #15, one of my favorite Dead concert CD's. Often this is my first choice to give out as gifts. Gave this one to my masseuse this past Christmas. Love the Eyes of the World, Not Fade Away, Truckin'.
holy shit, that kicked ass. i was born in 1970, raised by hippie parents and saw my first dead show in 1978. i was a bit overwhelmed by it all then, but i came to understand and appreciate.
hey how many people can say they saw the dead and bob marley live when they were 8? and people thought my parents were weird...
I was at this show. Arrived Friday evening and had to park about a mile away. We finally got through the gates at about 4 a.m. I still have the news articles and my ticket framed. Must have been 200K there. Still one of the best experiences I have ever had. God Bless & RIP Jerry!
I strongly Prefer a Dance Band or Some one really talented ..such as Brittney..Or even Jenifer Hudsoon..Or some other Idol..You know..Completely void of any true talent...Drone Music that make one pray from a drive by (some one playing the dead with the windows down...GOD I cannot wait until 04/16/09..See ya in VA..I miss My Family...Peace out B-real
This was an awesome concert, how I remember it well. Tripped my brainz out in the sun, actually arriving the night before via crazy deadhead bus service. We sang dead songs all the way there, bus driver included. I remember giant dragonflys(or was that the lsd?), and people sliding thru a big mudslide they created. NRPS were smoking! A great experience.
I was there, waaay down front. Was there when the gates opened. Quite a crush down there. Thought we were going to die of thirst, until someone passed a great big bucket of water around. It was hot as holy hell that day. What a great show. New Riders and Marshall Tucker, too.
One more thing: I also loved The New Riders and Marshall Tucker Band who I had previously never listened to that much! A completely beautiful day all-around. I still have my Grateful Dead frisbee which the roadies threw out to the crowd for free! I was in the front, and it was all friendly people on the same vibe. As The Kinks sang, "Where Have All the Good Times Gone?" Miss Jerry, his live music, and the special bond between the band and crowd SO much. Thx to peep like you, the music lives on!
This was my first Dead show, as I was mainly into British rock, but after this show, which featured the premier of Terrapin Station, I finally understood the meaning of "there's NOTHING like a Grateful Dead concert!" The music, the people, the PURE liquid bottles(lol)..I was not at Yasgur's Farm in '69, but this was MY Woodstock. Total peace and love, and the best Dead show I ever saw. Wish there was video, but my memories are clear. Would love to hear Terrapin from this show. Thanks so much!
Someone threw a ladder against huge trailers surrounding the park and we followed hundreds who climbed and sat up there. The Dead jammed into the night and tens of thousands of fans below lit their bic lighters at once and we could feel the heat up on the trailers. It was an amazing concert! Thanks for the post and the memory.
I went to this show. We got there the night before and camped out. The weather was perfect, NRPS, Marshall Tucker and the Dead all day and night. That WAS a great, great show
i think the only show at englishtown these days is the warped tour too bad well thanks for sharing a little history with us isjerryzkid and this awsome rendition of bertha
Thanks for uploading, I now live about a mile away from where this legendary show took place in 1977, I wish they would play concerts here again, from what I understand it was like Woodstock!
Nice Vid, although from the title I thought it may have been a video from this show, which is my favorite from 77... This is from dick's pick 15, My favorite show ever, Can't beat the Half step in the first set, please make a vide with that as well... Nice
Kymber!! This video is a masterpiece like a "Picasso Moon". You have a lot of talent and "Crazy Fingers" when it comes to making videos for the "Eyes of the World" to see. This video is "Sugaree" and sweet! "Me and My Uncle" thoroughly enjoyed watching this! Peace!~Ted

Author must have changed the song to this video. Is this Lou Reed or something? I don't know who it is but it's definitely not the Dead.

What does this have to do with the Grateful Dead? What is it? Why do so many of the comments imply that this is "Bertha"?
