i had one that had a brown coat with black tips and a white somach. it was alive for about 14-15 years but we put it down because she had horrible joint pain.
same here, mine was 14-15 w/horrible joint problems and began having breathing problems had to put his down :-( he was the best and his name was Ninja :-) It's been 8 months and me and the hubby are going to look at adopting a lab/shepherd puppy this weekend.
I love lab/shepherd mixs. Their so smart and their good with kids. I had one when I was a baby, so we pretty much grew up together...and I was torn up when she died. Then I got another lab/shepherd a few years later and I just love him!

my black lab/shepherd was the nicest dog, I miss him a lot. very loyal and affectionate. I knew he would protect me too.

I hope he got adopted. This is such a good combination of breeds. I'm on to my second black lab/shep X and can't believe how popular he is!
