I've played a Michael Kelly Patriot Glory ($450) and a Gibson Les Paul Standard 1979 Heritage Cherry Sunburst ($5,000), and honestly, I like the Patriot better.

there are a lot of epiphone, but if you take a 800 $ epiphone, the michael kelly has a better quality so it kills the epiphone but its cheaper, so the value is way better. the michael kelly is about the same quality on paper as a gibson les paul standard, and i think the michael kelly is better for playability and equal for sound, but its not famous so its cheaper than the gibson, i<ve got a patriot black and it was 640 $ CAD the gibson was like 2000$ CAD

the michael kelly patriot limeted in my opinon is better than a les pual standard and would easly kill any gibson sg lol i mean the rockfield swc pickups are the most virstial on the market at this time i mean the abilty to switch from single coil to humbucker is like having a les pual, start, and telli all in one! ha ha

@Chopstixz5 The coil tap is a plus, but I have owned a PRS Santana SE for 10 years now and it's been through hell, sounds great and gets me paid. I sat down with a patriot a couple of days ago and it played well but the craftmanship wasn't there. It reminded me of those Hamer archtops, which I have owned, they're pretty and loaded with features, but it's still a 400-500 dollar guitar. You get what you pay for.....p.s.- a coil tap mod is fairly easy and cheap. Sorry for my punctuality, Chopstix5.
