The reason why the postage was so high was because of it weight, almost 80kg when I brought it I had no idea that the postage was going to cost that much, It was donated to a school, possibly from a deceased estate?, they didn't want it, so one the teachers sold it to me.
"The original bid was $100". Ha ha! Knowing that tasty tidbit really wasn't going to make any difference to anyone, anywhere, ever - not even you! Now, if it had been a $4k start, since you won it at that price, then by all means, share that, because it would have had an interesting implication.:) I think $4k AUS is a good price, BUT the postage is insane!!! I would have taken the trip in person! At least get a holiday out of it!
So I take it $14000 is too much even for you to complete the set?
Hi boys. I have two TA-N1s & a TA-E1. Very nice if I say so myself. What you need to get the most out of them is a kosher hifi rack from scifi-hifi in Australia. The best most musical hifi track ever made, & cheap for the effect it has on my system & others that I have heard it on too. God luck with your systems. Cheers!

Yours PRE AMP. SONY TA-E1000ES. This digital pre amp. And this at all does not approach for this TA-N1!
You should have pure analogue pre amp. I can sell to you. My SONY TA-E80ES. In champagne. This pure stereo Pre amp. And more well will approach to yours. SONY TA-N1.
You use a TA-N1, one of the best sounding amps of all time, with a fully digitized TA-E1000ES, one of the WORSE sounding preamps ever made?
Not that is not the best, or only very good, or passable, but a horrible sounding preamp in every way shape and form. A pre which digitizes all analog input signals.
A $125'ish (used) pre with a $4,000 amp? That sounds right to you?
TA-E1000ES has the same DACs as found in $300 Sony CD changers of 20 years ago. That is what you are listening to.

I am looking for the matching Sony TA E-1 pre amp but I can not find it anywhere,
it never comes up for sale, I think only 100 unit where made, have you ever seen the
TA E-1 if you could find one for sale I would be very interested.
