How to fix a dead Action Replay DS

@sk8boarder2008 i got it at walmart back in '08. i dont think they even make them anymore. youd be better off trying to find an r4 or some other better flash card online.

In my Pokemon Diamond, only the walk through walks code works and none of the preloaded ones work or the ones I enter. Does this fix it or do I need to do something else?

@ConcreteEskimo this will not help your problem. check that the codes you are using are for your region, and make sure you only use a few at a time. too many codes can overload the memory and cause none of them to work.

I have a bricked white screen ards and my friend let me borrow his ar ds so i can use it for this method. i dont get what you mean you can use another ar to fix it. how can i open it up in my pc so i can manually upload the firmware. can i drag it into code list? im really confused. plz help me. i heard you were the man to go 2 if i had any problems. thx for your time

@mrpokemario once you have it restored drag the codelist you want onto it using the code manager. wait a few minutes, and it should be back to the way it was.

if you know anyone with a working action replay ds (not media edition or dsi, those use different firmware entirely) then you can use that instead of the flashcard.

if it says there isnt a ds card inserted instead of going to the ar then it means the contacts are broken.

open with notepad and look for something like this at the very top. FIRM„ì  DAR4NDS v200DSAR. if it looks like that copy it and change the extension to *.nds. if you can do that il pm you my email because i need that firmware too.

Er, just press A+B+SELECT+START on the start up, deletes every code, but it works again.

Oh i just tried it both ways. Plug in AR turn on Hold A+B+SELECT+START [On the white screen where its bricked] and putting in flsah cart, start ARDS, and then plugging AR in and holding A+B+SELECT+START. STill says "NOt enuff free space"

i can think of something, but it would make it a lot worse if it went wrong.

LAST RESORT: get a soldering iron and some solder from someone, put just a little on the contacts, use soldering iron. if you do end up trying this, pm me. if it works, then good job.
