In one of the other films I have posted, Friends, there is a one frame blur on the arm just before he clicks his fingers. By addignt the blur I need less frames to do the movement, and can make it look really quick.
First move should always be so small you are not sure if it has actually moved (but the camera picks it up, trust me). If you want a move so fast you don't have "time" to use the acceleration frame, put in a blur (like the finger click in "friends")
12 movements per second played at 24 fps, or "shot on two's" as we say. When the crowd passes it's shot on ones. Smooth movement is all about following the curve & keep a constant acceleration or deceleration. All movements start with an acceleration and stop with a deceleration, with the biggest moves in the middle, but think of it this way: if a move is bigger then the previous one, keep accererating until you want to stop the move, and when you stop, remember over-shooting and follow-through

What you didn't use greenscreen, so how did you make the background look so real?!

That's the beauty of stop-mo, it is real :)
It's all paint and sticks from the garden.
