Most people in your country were minorities from Turkey coming from poor rural areas, mostly from least developed part of Turkey, south eastern Anatolia. This is why you see sharp differences between some immigrants, most of them not even Turk at all, ask any German that actually been to Turkey's cities to describe differences, you will understand what I mean.

You cannot generalize what Muslims, it is like calling brazillians and germans the same since they are dominantly christian. In France few hundreds of thousands were almost burning, pillaging Paris, burning cars, torching buildins few years ago, there have never been a such incident in Grermany while there are millions of Turks, besides, there have been many racist attacks that even go far enough to torch Turkish houses of Turkish families and burning them alive, Turks did not even riot.

True, maybe they are forced to suppress their real feelings because of the history but Germany is still maybe the most xenophobic country in the world. That is the very reason why those people are isolated, assimilation is a time consuming process, by distributing Turks to public schools to keep them separated, making education harder for them by preventing education in native language is not helping.

Those people think they serve Germany more than an average German, They are not lazy people, that is why Germany kept inviting them, that is there are 2.5 millions Turks there in the first place. Do you know Germany still invites immigrants from Turkey ? They asked raw labor force in 70's now they want specialized people, people with profession. This hostility increased after the destruction of Berlin wall. Former GDR's unemployed people can not stand Turks having jobs.

What sharia law are you talking about ? Turkey is secular, the immigrants in Germany did not go there illegally, those people were invited, but they have been isolated, and threaded as 2nd class citizens for decades, that is why they have problems with integration, more religious than Turks in Turkey. Both Turkish and German governments are guilty for this. Still they are well qualified, hard working and economically most dynamic part of German society.

I'm an American stationed in Germany and yes, there is definately an immigration problem here (like the U.S. also)
IMHO, the German government has had a sigma about appearence because of WWII but they are letting things get out of hand.
I have no issues with legal imigration in our countries but there need to be controls.
Immigration is a privilage granted by the State not a right.
