I think one major problem with not being able to reach unconditional love is society's tendency to create labels. And we therefore FORCE ourselves to create our identities and thus the judgement and hatred happens. Maybe if we broke the laws of conformist society the world could be a better place. Bahah. This movie is amazing... but I also like how very convincing and cute Ryan Kelley is in the movie. I love it when they cast cuties like him, but hate to see them killed off because of things that happen in the story (and in this case, real life).
God created people. he gave us free will therefore people hate regardless. Hating is a choice. Don't pin that on God. He just created us, now he's just watching us make decisions fro ourselves.

I am still in touch with them and love them, but.... I sent them all this link to watch. I haven't heard anything from them yet.
i've been waiting for this movie for a long time and it finally came it was utterly outstanding. im a huge fan of ryan kelley and weaver and they made this film what it is. im still choked up over it and that ending like isaiahinger had me crying . PLEASE WATCH! encore today and monday.
This movie was incredible. It was so painful to watch - it made me sob. The last scene where she hugged a young man who bore a resemblance to her son made me completely lost it. I never cared for Sigourney Weaver as an actress until now, and now I LOVE her.

Though I am appreciative of some of the"outrage and disgust" being expressed
about Mary Griffiths' part in her sons' suicide, I feel compelled to remind people
that this all occured more than 27yrs ago! I had loved Bobby, but was helpless at
the time, as the "shocked" one time boyfriend of Bobbys'! I was all of 19yrs old
myself, when I learned of his death!
The outrage however, does demonstrate how much change has occured!

I know this sounds overly dramatic, but I feel like gay people needed a Savior because Jesus didn't even mention us. I feel like Bobby Griffith died so that others could live. If that makes him simply a martyr, that's fine, but I want to think it's bigger than that.

I saw it listed on Netflix to come out sometime in 2009 and it is now on my list to have them send, so I have to say yes.

ArchuletaLuver17...I do too!!!! I have known him since we were little and I can't believe how much he has grown!!! I am so proud of him!!! Also, check out one of his previous movies The Dust Factory with Hayden Panettiere. That is a cute movie.

Please pray for my family. I was gay in a conservative southern baptist family. This movie offers so many similarities to my life. At age 30, I moved 3000 miles away from my family. I am still in touch with them and love them, but.... I sent them all this link to watch. I haven't heard anything from them yet.

i've been waiting for this movie for a long time and it finally came it was utterly outstanding. im a huge fan of ryan kelley and weaver and they made this film what it is. im still choked up over it and that ending like isaiahinger had me crying . PLEASE WATCH! encore today and monday.

This movie was incredible. It was so painful to watch - it made me sob. The last scene where she hugged a young man who bore a resemblance to her son made me completely lost it. I never cared for Sigourney Weaver as an actress until now, and now I LOVE her.

omg this was the best movie i've ever seen, i saw it twice in a row and the second time i asked my mom to watch it to see if it would open her eyes to some things and make her more open minded of me and it worked because afterwards she hugged me for a while and said that she loved me over and over again, plus i cries so much during the movie both times, this movie is amazing i recommend that everyone see it and tell other people/ family to see it too

I am so glad you can get your family to watch this movie with you, For me and my brother it is too late, Chucky hung himself at the age of 20, two gay sons and one died because people can't believe God love us all.

it's not that simple "she's a bitch" it has a lot to do with the world we live in, culture, years and years of certain beliefs, but to simply say "she's a bitch" is to go down to the same hateful path .... i hated my mom for years after she called me a faggot, it took many years and therapists, but i have learned to forgive my mom and to love her and accept her for who SHE is. hate is a poison that is to easily passed from one person to the next. i say spread LOVE and watch it bloom.

But she did change. She was ignorant in the beginning of the movie. She genuinely believed that she was doing the right thing. She did not understand homosexuality. Now, she is a gay activist.

I would never be that way if my child told me she/he was gay. I support gay ppl and I see nothing wrong with it. It is the 21st century and we do need to be more open about things. brlaranjo is right.
A parent leading their child to death is horrible and thats exactly what his mom did to him.
I'm watching the movie right now and I think that its a nice movie. I think that parents should learn to accept their children no matter what.

I plan to watch it tomorrow evening. The previews make me near tears already; i can't believe a parent could be so against their child ... If I had a son that was gay, if I had a daughter that was gay ... sure, i'd be shocked, but come on ... seriously? It's nothing to b***h at them for.

Once you are stuck in your ways it's hard to break it, you know everybody has there own views and believes, you should respect it but when it cames to hurtinf your child, you need to be strong and just accept them , you may not believe in it but for your child's sake you have too. I understand that's how people were raised and brought up but come on it's the 21'st century we have to be more open.

@brlaranjo not just more open, but we have to also realize that we live in the era of science, and scientifically evidence exists that sexuality is biological in origin, rather than a matter of choice.
