  • it aint right for a mother to abondan a son or daughter when they tell you they are gay or lesbain. im 15 and i told my mom and she almost quit on me but then we talked and now she says its my life but i got to be ready for all the tortur that comes with the right of being gay. i also think kentucky needs the gay rights movement so people like my self will know we can get married to the man or women of our dream. im GAY AND PROUD. AARE YOU WITH ME!!!!!!!!

  • All bobby want is acceptance! Nice movie.. Ryan Kelley did it again.. Wow!

  • I have 2 gay cousins. When i found out i wasn't for it very much but I love them no less. No less. I wouldn't ever stop loving them. I wouldn't cure them. I love them both so much and leave it all up to christ.

i hope this hate stops. Poor bobby

  • That evil liberal Ryan boy is going to hell for playing a homosexual! God shall not tolerate such abominations! America belongs to God! Vote the Bible in 2012! Impeach Antichrist Obama Now!

  • @GrandInquisitor7

Ethan "Amico Mio" Bobby Griffiths' onetime lover/boyfriend here, just wishes to express how blessed you are and how proud you make him! I'm terrible with "Acronyms" but.......BTW you're a darling "Choir Nerd" at that!

    Con L'Amore e Molti Baci!

Il Suo Nuovo Amico Per Sempre! (Your New Friend Always)

    Blaine

  • @Lifetime

    Ciao Miei Amici!

I hope my friends you'll indulge me by allowing me share something that occurred yesterday that's got me all excited! I had lost contact and hadn't heard from Bobbys' mother Mary Griffith in years, but living relatively close I hoped someone would perhaps forward her my contact info! And yesterday out of nowhere it seemed I received an email from her! We both had some delightful exchanges! Her next message was to invite me to a "Family Barbeque" in Sunday!

    Ciao Bello!

Hey "Sweetie Boy" Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend here, wishing to say how moved he is by your being moved by his story! But make no mistake "Il Caro Mio Ragazzo" (My Dear Boy) the time for sadness is over, things are irreversibly changing for queer (LGBTQ) folks, and for the better! Let's take hands and do what we are able to do to convince our brothers and sisters to "Stick Around"!

    Blaine

  • This movie was the sadest and greatest movie ever!

  • I had a religious experience with God that changed my life. Now, people have said that I have completely changed. God comes first in my life and God is the center of everything I do. Now, I believe that homosexuality is a part of our human experience. I realize that all people are of value, gay, straight, les, bi, trans, etc. To the LGBT community, do not let a group of people, the straights, take God away from you.

    Peace.

  • @Mymoonlightray You got it. I've been married for over 35 years, and it is not all that. Straight people don't know their asses from a hole in the ground. lol

  • @Mymoonlightray

    Ciao Bella!

    Rachael l'amica!

As one who both knew and loved Bobby Griffith, I thank you for this from the bottom of my heart! It's a message I've been frantically attempting to get acoss myself, especiall to younger "questioining" people, who might crave the love of G-D, but are constantly barraged with messages of what "others" perceive as their "unworthyness"!! You get it my darling, may G-D bless you for that!

    Grazie Mille Ragazza Bella!

    Il Suo Nuovo Amico

    Blaine

  • @Mymoonlightray

    Ciao Bella!

    Cara Rachel! (Dear Rachel)

Darling "Ragazza Bella" (Beautiful Girl) It's Bobby Griffiths' old lover/boyfriend here, to express how "Molto Fantastico" it is that you "Get It"! You're blessed my dear, to have had a glimpse of the almost unimaginable capacity of G-Ds love!

Ti amo (I love you) for this "Darling"!

  • The truth of the matter is that there is no god. If a god would have existed, Christianity, Judaism and Islam would not have been born. God would not have allowed Christianity! to exist anyway!

  • I cried when I saw this on Lifetime.

It needs to show again...so I can record it and watch it again!

  • @Sidney38SNJ

It's great to see you doing good works out here in the fields of the Lord Sidney!

    Bless You!

    Blaine

  • Why can't Christian understand that GOD created the form to pro-create. When a fetus is development many things can go wrong, why can't it be understood that to much femininity go into a a developed male whose body has already formed a penis. I mean babies a born conjoined, armless, legless, with both a penis and a vagina. So how are people unable to understand that a Male can be born with feelings for a male, and vise versa.

  • I think one major problem with not being able to reach unconditional love is society's tendency to create labels. Everything we create is instantly labeled, "masculine" or "feminine", "cool" or "uncool", "gay" and "straight." And we therefore FORCE ourselves to create our identities and thus the judgement and hatred happens. Maybe if we broke the laws of conformist society the world could be a better place. Bahah. I sound like an anarchist libertarian. Bahah XDDD And God loves everyone :D

  • @brkngbnjmn14

    Ciao!

Incredibly charming of you to come out against "labels" and then indict yourself with two politically

charged labels that have come into use within the last two centuries. I would prefer a label out of

antiquity a call you a "stoic"

    May G-D Bless You!

    Blaine

  • @blainebill39 Well Blaine, that was actually my use of author's craft. You're the first one to find the satire of hypocrisy. And I applaud you. And yes, I did it on purpose. And stoic? I can be. bahahaha.

  • @brkngbnjmn14

    Ciao Bello Encore!

    Cheers,

Witt ,which may often be comprised of satire, irony and sometimes absurdity, has always been among the greatest weapons of our more litterarily inclined brothers and sisters! Whenever I find myself faced with

blatent hypocrisy, to the point of exasperation, I just reach back and someone like "Wilde" will have something apropos to lift my spirits!

    Grazie Mille Encore Per Tutti!

    Blaine

  • I think in a way it's also a religious mother's over protectiveness of her son. I know it may be a stretch but I think she becomes so desperate to save him that she misses everything else.

  • when I saw the movie, I just thought about the struggle my cousin goes through ever since he came out :/ He said it hurts that he even gets grief from people in the family.

it's sad that Bobby had to die for his mom to accept Bobby.

  • What is not natural is for a mother to abandoned her child.

  • @Lifetime

    Know this my friends,

You are all beautiful and precious in the site of G-D, gay or straight!

I love and care about you because I believe myself to be my brothers'

and sisters' keeper. And yes, it so happens that my love for Christ and

his "Good News" does inform me in this! Why am I saying this?

Because, had I been able to articulate this to Bobby, when we were kids,

he could very well still be with us!

    May G-D Bless You!

    Blaine

  • most kids with parents like this MOVE OUT! duh....or they don't ask don't tell until they moved out and are older!

  • @Lifetime

Though I am appreciative of some of the"outrage and disgust" being expressed

about Mary Griffiths' part in her sons' suicide, I feel compelled to remind people

that this all occured more than 27yrs ago! I had loved Bobby, but was helpless at

the time, as the "shocked" one time boyfriend of Bobbys'! I was all of 19yrs old

myself, when I learned of his death!

The outrage however, does demonstrate how much change has occured!

    Blaine

  • I am truly encouraged that so many people have responded so strongly to

Bobby and Mary Griffiths' story, though I would also like to gently remind people

that these events occuerd almost 30yrs ago. The paradigm shift in thought and

attitude was barely in it's infancy!

As for Mary, she has gone on to devote much of her life to bring these changes

about. I loved Bobby dearly, as much as any boy of 18 understands love. All

the support services that exist today were virtually non existent!

  • let him r.i.p

    when i seen this movie

i cried so much that i had

a box of tissues i support gay people

and i think god loves everyone♥this is

    my favorite movie♥

  • this movie made me cry so much i had a box of tisssue next to me

i support gay people nd i think god loves everyone♥my favorite movie

  • If god makes everyone like people say then why would he make gays if he hated them, Thats just stupid. People say you choose to be gay. Thats not true, you are born like that. I dont believe in god honestly. I dont think a dead guy is looking down on us and chooses who gets to go to heaven and who doesnt. when you die, I think your soul just wanders arond. There is no heaven or hell to me. when you die you die thats it. Thats just my opinion though and I respect others who think different.

  • there is another move like this movie called "A Girl Like Me" its a sad movie too

  • @1RockbandUnderOath1

Really??? But wat is it about???

  • Hey guys if you wanna watch the movie go to

Prayers For Bobby Subtitulada Parte 1

  • @darkangel16371 yeah, that was the only one I could find here. All the others directed me to some stupid website.

  • @ScientiaVeritasEtLux

yeah ino but how was the movie? Did it make u cry?

  • @darkangel16371 Almost. I couldn't really cuz my room mate was at the desk next to me and he would wonder what was up. lol. but the video quality sucked on it. Wish i could have seen it when it first came out on Lifetime.

  • @ScientiaVeritasEtLux

LOL Awwe... and yeah me too :(

  • The Bobby guy is so cute!!

  • I can't imagine what it's like to lose a family member in that way. It must be awful.

  • omg. so sad!! wanna see it!!

  • The funeral in the movie was filmed at my church..and the parts where they interview bobby is also my church

  • Which church?? Ive been trying to find out where both the churches filmed in the movie were.

  • Thank you for such a moving movie.

  • well this brought tears to my face

it is true it makes me sick

    god will always love u

if ur born like that ur still going to heaven

    unless u are amerder

but hes going to see god

love u bobby ur one of us no matter what

    ;-(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

  • i cried basically throughout this whole movie. it baffles me that this truly does go on in many households, day in and day out. This story truly touched my heart. R.I.P. Bobby Griffith

  • This movie is amazing... but I also like how very convincing and cute Ryan Kelley is in the movie. I love it when they cast cuties like him, but hate to see them killed off because of things that happen in the story (and in this case, real life).

  • best movie ever i love ryan kelley he is sooo hot

  • I love this movie T.T

  • wasn't the mother also in Holes? The name sounds familiar. I really want to watch this movie too!

  • yep she was the warden.

  • he is so cute im so in love with him

  • what an incredible story.

    truly amazing.

  • I have this recorded on my DVR and I can't stop watching it.

It's just so sad. Bobby was a very conflicted soul and the problem was mostly due to his family.

    Incredible story.

  • I think it's stupid when people say God hates gay people, because that is NOT true God loves everyone, and excepts them no matter what. :]

  • yeah i know right! they say god created everyone, and creates everyone. y would god creat people he would hate?

  • Exactly, but people just say that because they are immature & have no idea what they are saying!

  • God created people. he gave us free will therefore people hate regardless. Hating is a choice. Don't pin that on God. He just created us, now he's just watching us make decisions fro ourselves.

  • @donniemormon

Well the God in the Bible is cruel and sadistic, so it would make sense he hates gays.

But good news, God doesn't exist!

  • @donniemormon

Yes, Mickey Mouse loves and accepts everyone too, as do the Teletubies and Barney.

  • @donniemormon Hahaha, you mean "accepts" them:)

  • @donniemormon It is very true! Crack Open a Bible!

  • I know this sounds overly dramatic, but I feel like gay people needed a Savior because Jesus didn't even mention us. I feel like Bobby Griffith died so that others could live. If that makes him simply a martyr, that's fine, but I want to think it's bigger than that.

  • yes bobby is very sexy

  • does anyone know if it is coming out on DVD?

  • I saw it listed on Netflix to come out sometime in 2009 and it is now on my list to have them send, so I have to say yes.

  • Wow, it's only coming out on DVD next year? Bummer...that's kind of late, isn't it? I'd like to buy a copy for my collection

  • i love this movie was so touching it was amazing

  • This should come out on DVD, great teaching tool.

  • Bobby was freakin HOT. lol. sorry

  • I liked how he looked when he was giving a summary of the movie.

  • ArchuletaLuver17...I do too!!!! I have known him since we were little and I can't believe how much he has grown!!! I am so proud of him!!! Also, check out one of his previous movies The Dust Factory with Hayden Panettiere. That is a cute movie.

  • u know ryan kelley!?

  • LGBT FTW! amazing movie! i cried so much! i

  • omg i loved this movie even tho it was really sad. i love ryan kelley!! he is amazing!

  • omg!:]

    i loved this movie<3

idk why "gay" movies always keep me drawn to their stories.

    this particular story was great!

awesome! movie^^ and Ryan Kelley is very cute:] ahhh! haha

  • Please pray for my family. I was gay in a conservative southern baptist family. This movie offers so many similarities to my life. At age 30, I moved 3000 miles away from my family. I am still in touch with them and love them, but.... I sent them all this link to watch. I haven't heard anything from them yet.

  • i've been waiting for this movie for a long time and it finally came it was utterly outstanding. im a huge fan of ryan kelley and weaver and they made this film what it is. im still choked up over it and that ending like isaiahinger had me crying . PLEASE WATCH! encore today and monday.

  • i love my LGBT Community!

  • This movie was incredible. It was so painful to watch - it made me sob. The last scene where she hugged a young man who bore a resemblance to her son made me completely lost it. I never cared for Sigourney Weaver as an actress until now, and now I LOVE her.

  • I just saw this and its AMAZING

  • I haven't seen the movie ye.But i have read the book

  • omg this was the best movie i've ever seen, i saw it twice in a row and the second time i asked my mom to watch it to see if it would open her eyes to some things and make her more open minded of me and it worked because afterwards she hugged me for a while and said that she loved me over and over again, plus i cries so much during the movie both times, this movie is amazing i recommend that everyone see it and tell other people/ family to see it too

  • I am so glad you can get your family to watch this movie with you, For me and my brother it is too late, Chucky hung himself at the age of 20, two gay sons and one died because people can't believe God love us all.

  • im still crying, and still watching it the movie... love is uncondition and should never be questioned!!!

  • when i saw this movie i cryed so hard

  • that moms a bitch

  • it's not that simple "she's a bitch" it has a lot to do with the world we live in, culture, years and years of certain beliefs, but to simply say "she's a bitch" is to go down to the same hateful path .... i hated my mom for years after she called me a faggot, it took many years and therapists, but i have learned to forgive my mom and to love her and accept her for who SHE is. hate is a poison that is to easily passed from one person to the next. i say spread LOVE and watch it bloom.

  • But she did change. She was ignorant in the beginning of the movie. She genuinely believed that she was doing the right thing. She did not understand homosexuality. Now, she is a gay activist.

  • I would never be that way if my child told me she/he was gay. I support gay ppl and I see nothing wrong with it. It is the 21st century and we do need to be more open about things. brlaranjo is right.

A parent leading their child to death is horrible and thats exactly what his mom did to him.

I'm watching the movie right now and I think that its a nice movie. I think that parents should learn to accept their children no matter what.

  • I plan to watch it tomorrow evening. The previews make me near tears already; i can't believe a parent could be so against their child ... If I had a son that was gay, if I had a daughter that was gay ... sure, i'd be shocked, but come on ... seriously? It's nothing to b***h at them for.

  • Once you are stuck in your ways it's hard to break it, you know everybody has there own views and believes, you should respect it but when it cames to hurtinf your child, you need to be strong and just accept them , you may not believe in it but for your child's sake you have too. I understand that's how people were raised and brought up but come on it's the 21'st century we have to be more open.

  • @brlaranjo not just more open, but we have to also realize that we live in the era of science, and scientifically evidence exists that sexuality is biological in origin, rather than a matter of choice.
