It's flat out untrue that biological parents have lower abuse rates. Adopted children are scrutinized way too closely for them to fall through the cracks. Being a biological father doesn't qualify you as anything more than a sperm donor.

For example, the latest one is done on adoptive parents who have been screened and it was based on self-reporting by the parents of the child. So gay people are thinking, "If I report that my child is not mentally healthy, I might not get the right to marry." Furthermore, it was done exclusively on lesbians (females are, by nature, less violent and less abusive), and may be less likely to be objective about their kids.

Children bond with those they choose. I see many families where the male children are closer to the mother, and vice versa with the daughters and father. While people's lives are irrelevant to you also, it's better to feel comfortable in your own skin, better for your children and better for your spouse.
