  • What kind of wood did you use and what kind of glue did you use and how long did you let it sit for to dry plz respond thanks

  • @gocartkid5150 I used baltic birch and oak ply wood. I used tight bond 3 glue and i let it sit for 24hrs just to make sure

  • wtf? you put the camber ibn the wrong side :p

  • @Livingformusic666 na i made this board for my friend and he wanted a rocker board. i know what i'm doing :)

  • 1:27 - 1:29 guy in the back

  • How strong is that board? im trying to make a freebord becfuase theres ripoffs on the site do you think that mutch wood will withstand jumping and landing on stuff as well as crashing?

  • 18,000 views whoooo! thanks everyone

  • @thevolpstar18 How Much did this cost all togather?

  • @brendanfilms1 if you have all the tools to build it, prob only like $40

  • mm ari koivunen from finland ? sick board man , im making a pintail to start,,, what size are those trucks by the way 180's ??

  • @ricardillosk8 thank you! go for it i was riding a pintail for a while. no the trucks are pretty small but i would recommend 180s for any board

  • Hey man thanks for great video . Im interested in making one of these, just wondering how long is the part of the board that is 8inches wide? And how long and wide should I do the part where the truck goes so I don't get wheel bite?

  • @MrKepes hey dude thanks for the feedback. the part of the board thats 8 inches is the widest part of the board (the middle section). the parts by the trucks are 5inches wide and 7ish inches long. i made it that size because my trucks are pretty wide but you can always eye-ball it for your trucks. After you cut the shape out and feel like there will be wheel bite still just and riser pads.

  • im making a board atm im using 2- 1/4 inch ply on a 40 inch long board do u think that is to thin?

  • @691129005 it prob will be a little too thin. it depends on how much you weigh, anything over 150ish pounds is prob to heavy for a that thin of a board thats 40 inches.

  • where did you get those stencils

  • @TheSoccerDawg11 i made them myself out of construction paper

  • no fiberglass?if you were to use fiberglass, when would you have applied it to the board?

  • @ambersparks123 not on this one. but you can if you want. apply the resin and fiberglass after you press the board and cut it out

  • @thevolpstar18 do u put fiberglass on top and bottom or just the side that you will be standing on

  • @5firestars you can put fiber glass on it if you want. you put it on the side that you stand on and put it on after you cut the shape out

  • yeah really helpful

  • ok thanks ive started it looking good so far

  • Ok thank for the help

  • @Thevolpstar18 where did you get your wood home depot??

  • @dailyshuffle yes!!

  • I'm going to try and make one and way kind and how much wood did u use??

  • @dailyshuffle one sheet of baltic birch 1/4 inch and one sheet of baltic birch 1/2. you can also use 3 sheets of 1/4 inch if you want, you can get more bends in you board if you use 3 sheets of 1/4in

  • where can i find this type of foam please help :(

  • Man, that came out great. Nice simple process. Thanks for taking the time to make and post the vid.

  • @gotidyyourroom no problem my dude

  • thanks im gonna try and make 1 similar hoefully it works should b starting it tommorow or somethin and did u use normal skateboard trucks

  • @unitrider1402 ok if you have any problems let me know.

and yea i used my friends trucks and wheels because i made this board for him. the trucks are longer skate trucks, the axils are wider then normal skate trucks

  • Comment removed

  • what is the length and width of this board

  • @unitrider1402 38x8 inches

  • I'm making one today!!

  • Greatest longboard I have ever seen!!!!!!!!

  • @littleabro thanks ma dude

  • Awesome board!!! Nice video

  • Thanx for sharing good video im gunna make one now

  • me and my friend have been wanting to make a DK board but we are using 2-3 plys of quarter inch birch for about a 37-40 inche board and we sandwhich our board with a layer of fiberglass would the way you pressed this board hold up with the quarter inch wood?

  • @skateitoriginal17 yea you can make more radical bends when you press the board because the plies are thinner. i would recommend not putting the fiber glass in the middle of the board because glue will not hold that well to the fiberglass. put it on the top or bottom of the board after you press it and the glue its completely dry.

  • @thevolpstar18 alright thanks and is there any concave in this board?

  • @skateitoriginal17 yea i made this one for my friend and he wanted a bend downward in it

  • a clean garage is a happy garage!

  • @zacyboyZ a messy garage makes longboards :)

  • If im using maple how many ply's i would need ? My weigth:120pound

    2ply of 1/4?

  • @loljolol123 hey, yea it depends because the thickness of plies in plywood can vary. maple s very strong so you should have no problem with gluing two pieces of 2-ply 1/4inch. just to be clear, the board will be 1/2 inch thick then. hope this helps

  • looks like a loaded bhangra! is that what you were aiming for?

  • @SweptOutToSea yea its a cool board but no, i took some of the shape from the tan tein loaded board to make mine.

  • @thevolpstar18 the tan tien is so good, i own it haha. sweet board you made but. you shuold make then sell some that would be mad

  • @SweptOutToSea thanks. i do sell them find me on facebook and message me if your interested. I make them alot better now i fiberglass them and use stronger wood. i have yet make a board that is easily damaged or break. :)

  • What about maple veneer?

  • @Mongiloyd yea you can definitely use that but its alot harder to get your hands on

  • @thevolpstar18 My dad owns a woodshop so maybe he can pull some strings :D Thanks for your comment!

  • @Mongiloyd no prob

  • What did you use to make the graphic? Like did you paint it on or something like that? And what does the clear arcrylic paint do?

  • @oTANGs9 i used a ball point pen haha. but you can use anything really. and the acrylic paint seals the board it repels water and sand and stuff like that. it also seals the graphic so it wont smudge

  • @thevolpstar18 oh aha, how did the board turn out? Is she really flexy?

  • @oTANGs9 the boards awsome it rides real nice. and it flexes but not a crazy amount

  • Can you give me a list of the materials you used? I want to be sure I didn't miss anything

  • @CantStopLawling jig-saw, drill, sand paper, "tite bond 3 wood glue", oak and birch multiply plywood, clear acrylic paint.... thats about it, if you follow the vid its not that difficult

  • Question; Wheel bite?

  • @that8mystery8kid Answer; there is non with this board in the video, but if you find that you make one that the wheels hit, then just add some raiser pads.

  • muito bom

  • does it hold well?

  • @iilongboardingii yea the glue dries rubbery but its really strong

  • @thevolpstar18 how much do you weigh ?

  • can you inbox me a list of materials to use for this please

  • Do you think I could make a longboard without any curve in it? Will it still have flex and function properly if I make a different style board but without the curve and a different template?

  • Hey man, I was wondering how high up both ends of the board should be when you screw it down in place? Also what is the best glue to use? Your video is great by the way!

  • @rootrockreggea69 THANKS!! and it all depends i lifted the ends about 1/2 inch on the nose and tail of the board to get that bend. its really a preference. usually the standard downhill longboard has about a 1/2-3/4 inch bend upward in the middle of the board.

  • @rootrockreggea69 o yea and the best glue is "tight bond 3" cause it dries to a flexible rubber

  • Nice video man! But could you make a video driving in :)

  • @generalaxel driving in what??

  • @thevolpstar18 Riding*

  • @generalaxel haha yea man i gotta start filming maybe after christmas ill put out a video

  • whats a good length for the longboard to be?

  • @PRIIMEvideos its a preference its easier to ride if the board is longer. around 38-40inches is usually the average board length. 8inches wide

  • i used 3 1/4 birch ply, would that be ok?

  • What thickness would you reccomend for one sheet

  • @topshelfgoal7 if you buy one sheet, buy 1/2 inch birch but it will only be a flat board there will not be any bend to it.

  • @thevolpstar18 Does the one you made in the vid have flex?

  • @topshelfgoal7 yea it does but not much

  • @thevolpstar18 Oh its pretty nice though. I got one yesterday.

  • Comment removed

  • how do i draw a perfect template for the shape of the board?

  • @Kyl35umm3r5 I used a ruler and a compass, but you can also print some offline

  • That's some pretty serious rocker... how's it ride?

    Awesome job by the way.

  • @BandWill thanks dude. and i made it for my friend. he loves it. he has been riding it since the start of the summer and he has no complaints

  • 0:46 sight of hand pro

  • @ImmaR4peYoAszz

you mean sleight of hand pro?

  • @thevolpstar18 alright cause it just seemed thicker than my board i bought im new to longboarding and they all seem so thin...hopefully will be making one soon

  • @JHaggs32 yea it depends usually longboards are 1/2 inch. depending on the wood you can make it 1/2 inch. GOOD LUCK

  • is it too thick or is there still plenty of flex?

  • @JHaggs32 it depends on the wood, if you use multi-ply birch or oak the board will have more flex

  • would you be albe to make me one ?????

  • Making a mini long board at my school (WoodShop) thank god they have everything

  • does the jig saw give you better cuts than a ban-saw?

  • @maxlandy12 it is probably easier to cut it out on a ban saw but ban saws are very expensive so most people on have jig saws. either will give you the same result

  • @thevolpstar18 do you need risers before the trucks or not?

  • @66666678cam you don't need them if the wheels clear the wood when you turn.

  • Dude thats hella sick, ur boards are awesome

  • @maxlandy12 thanks my dude

  • nice

  • best vid ever

  • Does the board need to flex or can it be completely flat when there's no weight on it?

  • @frodoshop it doesn't have to have a flex but it rides a lot nicer with a bend in it

  • @thevolpstar18 can i have your cut out of the board

  • @sk8er3500 i'll post a photo of the cut out if i get a chance. just base yours off of other boards

  • you put the trucks in so it made the board flex downwards, do you have to do it that way or can you set up the board so that it flexes upwards when nothings on it?

  • @A10SKID yea you can make the flex either way. i made this for my friend and he wanted it this way.

  • try it with 4 or 5 sheets of 1/8" baltic birch. it will turn out stronger, thinner, and better looking. also, why did you put the glue on both pieces of wood? you dont need to, it just wastes the glue.

  • @joegadd you can set up a dimm press for that. you use high density insulation foam. just google "dimm press" and see what you get.

  • good board here's a challenge make a brace for a w concave i havent figgered it out yey can you?

  • Is it ok if I use 3 sheets of 1/4?

  • @IMPAXSK8 yeah, you can use 3 sheets of 1/4 inch but it will be a little more stiff. the glue will make the board bend less, so if you are a little over weight then go with the 3 sheets. I prefer a board that has a good amount of bounce so i use 1 sheet 1/4 and the other 1/2 inch

  • Did you grip it?

  • Yeah like 1mas2iguala3 asked how much did everything cost you?

  • How much did it cost all?

    Nice board *_*

  • @1mas2iguala3 around 35 bucks. it depends the wood ranges in price and the glue also...

  • How does this board have concave?

  • @Sethmanpie after you put the glue on the wood, you put the wood in a curved press and as the glue dries it will hold the curved shape. the press is simple to make just try to make 1 similar to the one in the video. you can pretty much make any curve you want

  • 3/4 inch thick?

  • @izman20 yup... you can use 1/2 inch if u can get ur hands on a piece of oak or bitch ply with alot of layers like 10 plies.

  • so how soon did this break after you started riding it?

  • @macm2k10 not at all dude. it rides great.

  • Dude u put the trucks on upside down

  • @LoftusLongboarders na dude i made that board bending down so they were on the right way

  • Secret & Whisper, very nice choice

  • This is pretty dubtacular

  • You miss the snow
