Are these birds Plymouth Barred Rock? I have a couple that look pretty similar to yours.

chickens are the best, they have been next to us long before dogs, each one is like a little baby. i have had these since they were the size of a thumb. glad you like them.
What a gentle soul you are. So humane.
It' so peaceful to watch over animals/wildlife and care for them. I love it.
