The GOP attack machine under Rove has turned the party into host for such divisive, hair-trigger jingoistic hackery, that even a decent guy like McCain once was had to sell out everything he stood for just so he would have a base in his own party.

Second on the hollywood production point; and I don't think anyone expects Obama to be a miracle cure for all our problems home and abroad. But regardless of how cynical and jaded and negative we've all become, you've got to be realistic and vote for the candidate least likely to do more damage to America.

And you know, the fact that Clinton was not an extreme ideologue, that he did have conservative policies - made him a better leader. He had a bipartisan cabinet under him for one.

All governments fail.Some worse than others.Less government is the key .That way the damage is minimized.

Saw Obama's speech tonight and it was a very good one .He is a great speaker.But a speech is just a speech,and only one aspect of leadership and governing.

A visionary,eloquent speaker doesnt neccesarily make a moral leader and /or good president.Just look at JFK.He was an awesome speaker,yet as president nearly got America into a nuclear war,dealt with the mob and probably screwed just as many women as Ron Jeremy has.

Almost got us into a nuclear war? Do you know your history? Russia was in the process of placing nuclear missles in Cuba giving them first strike capability. It took incredible courage to do what JFK did and he saved our ass...hell he saved the world pretty much.

As soon as Castro declared himself a communist and ally of the USSR and started receiving Soviet advisors,JFK should have attacked.Thats what Gen.Lemay had advised him to do.Instead he did some minor operations,which prompted the soviets to send nuclear missiles there.This created a very volatile situation that could have produced a mistake(s) with megalo fatal results.Kruschev played JFK well and won that show down.

uh, JFK wasn't president in 1959.  THe Bay of Pigs was planned under Eisenhower. Castro started in 1958. Lemay couldn't advised JFK because he wasn't in the white house. Facts are stubborn things.

really anticipating barrack obama's speech. he does the down to earth connection speech and nails it, it will go down as a great convention.

even so, we all still have to turn out to vote and work to get others to vote. i like john mccain, but i don't agree with him. more of the same, is just too depressing.

I been listening for the past DNC over the past 40 yrs. The circus atmosphere and rhetoric just doesn´t produce except for their own personal agendas or long term government goals. The truth will be known in the next new goverment. Now, we´ll see what the Republicans can promise and deliver when their convention starts next week in St Paul. .

Now, all of you go donate to Barack and this campaign. The Republicans have more money and more slander to to promote and you can bet they will.
