  • Shagimuratova's Traviata at HGO earned her standing ovations this season! Her voice is wonderful!

  • It's so good !!! I want to see this performance especially Queen of the Night.

  • I saw shagimuratova live as well- no stage presence at all, no acting. As for the singing, I think no further comments are required...

  • Wow, this is some incredibly shitty singing

  • @jaketaz most precise observations. Kind of got a phobia to go to the local opera after hearing this, as they put shagimuratova in every opera now

  • @AleksejOMG

I saw she was about to sing at HGO, and also opted against going.

I was going to be more precise and talk about everything I saw happening, but it was too long for the comment box. Plus I didn't want to give the 12 people that clicked "like" anything to go after me about. Like how she's good, but not as good as Andrea Bocelli or something.

  • @jaketaz

Okay anyone who would compare a fabulous coloratura soprano like Ms. Shagimuratova to a popular music artist like Andrea Bocelli, obviously does not know what world class opera singing is.

  • @theatrenthusiast

Right. Most people don't. I'm starting to question whether I do myself. Everyone tells me this is good, that Kaufmann, Dessay, Villazon and Netrebko are good, and I always disagree so maybe I don't know anything.

  • @jaketaz its opera

  • i saw Albina Shagimuratova live and she was amazing

  • That is some very interesting designing. The costumes are a bit ridiculous too.

  • what cracked out performance is this?

  • I believe it's San Francisco

  • @macopera No, she is debuting here in SF this summer, so cant be.

  • Actually, it says at the end that its LA Opera. Although that doesn't look like Joseph Kaiser.

  • LA opera web site:

The two casts feature many exciting debuts, including Marie Arnet, Erin Wall (Pamina), LUbica Vargicova, Albina Shagimuratova (Queen of the Night), Matthew Polenzani, Joseph Kaiser (Tamino), Nathan Gunn, Markus Werba (Papageno), Günther Groissböck, Morris Robinson (Sarastro) and Matthias Goerne (The Speaker).

  • Papageno looks like a Dr. Seuss character!!!
