@ChristainPatriot01 The roll never operates the shutters, they are operated manually, just like almost everything else, using knee levers. This model 25 Fotoplayer has two knee levers, one for the left-side swell, the other for the right-side swell. All American Fotoplayers were originally designed to play 88-note piano rolls, and thus the operator has to add everything else manually.
