Marvin developed his chops in church singing gospel songs which demanded the singer let go from the spirit. When you listen to the cd of the session, you will be introduced to side one - all vocals by Marvin, he does the vocals using the multiple tape track purpose (includes alternatives of various songs) and side two - you are introduced to the final product, mixed and polished. It is a treat for the listener's ear.
Just so you know. the CD sounds like 1000 times more amazing than this. Like you are in the same room as him. That little bit of distortion is in the tape recorder. Those tiny hiss sounds is the tape racing across the head at 2.5 feet per second. But, tape is so much deeper in quality than digital ever will. I iwll take the very small side-effects. That digital "chirp" annoys the hell out of me. tape on the other hand sounds smooth.
This is what audio tape sounds like. This is pure analog magnetic tape. I wish more people would realize that tiny bit of noise, is WAY better on the ears than that grainy, chirpy digital sound that we got used to. We need to get used to tape again. Record producers are killing themselves for using an inferior medium like digital for sourcing music. The cost isnt so great when you consider these are great people and are worth tape.
