@flitetest ok & thx for the fast reply! oh and one more thing! does the set up you gave us have enough power to carry bombs for bomb drops or something like that?
I would like to congratulate you all. Weekly watch your videos. They are very good! Today will initiate the construction of the FT plane with the setup that you guys showed! Tanks a Hobby King and Flite Test! Big hug from Brazil!

Next time u guys do a scratch build itd be cool to show is the building process in a separate video. Im sure more people would build it if you showed em how.
Yes I have a comment for the producer. Excuse me Sir, this idea started about the time of the first super bowl and caught on quickly there after but with most dramatic footage the general public (that I think I can speak for) expects a "Dramatic Slo-mo instant Replay". Whats up with that?
Your motor is rated for 7 amps max, yet you used an 18-amp ESC? I use the very small Turnigy Plush 10A on a lot of my planes of this size and power. It's only 9g (vs. 19g for the 18A). If you used the 18A just because you had it lying around, you could have clarified that, for people who were thinking of doing this type build.
Ive seen all of your episodes and they are great . Something about the combination of you two just works<3 . I was just thinking you guys could get a traditional 4channel trainer with a trainer cord and do a hour or so a day and within a week he could probably solo . You could use the WIlga 2000 or the Durafly Cessna 182 . Hobbyking sells both of those planes ! I believe it would make a good episode as well . Good luck.
@PlancksTime If you pay attention, once in the video appears the page where is write "Blu Dart" and 2 lines below is write "26" wingspan". So I think this is the one.
@PlancksTime according to XFLR5, the mean aero chord is 0.275 m (10.8 in), 0.128 m (5 in) far from the center. As a starting point I would locate the CG at 25% of this chord, measuring from the leading edge. It's the same as to measure 0.13m (5.1 in) from the leading edge of the center of the wing. Sorry for my poor english.
Excellent videos guys, I'm going to build a blu dart, but i'm gonna add ailerons as I hav a 3ch phobia (due to 3ch glider crash into ht power cables, scary)
i was flying my avistar. i loved that plane. landed it one time and found i forgot to put screw in aeileron servo horn. another time i landed it and noticed the engine was just bearly held onto the mount. it vibrated almost all the way clear. it was but one flight from a bad day.
Great vid guys! We leave out the servo screws for 2 reasons, weight, and when you crash indoors, its better to have a servo arm come off than to strip gears. We usually have about 10 planes in a gym so its like bumper cars That ESC is too big for indoors - defeats having 3.7g servos. Chk my vids on how to remove paper from foamboard EASY!
I love your guys videos! Its always well done well informed and great shots (Thats what the camera crew is suppose to do but still haha) and its Always Funny!!! I love watching these videos I laugh every time! Thank you!!
IF YOU ACTUALLY GAVE JOSH ( THE NOT SO GOOD FLYER....WITH POTENTIAL )
A FULL CONTROL PLANE......AILERONS, ELEVATOR, RUDDER, NOSE GEAR STERRING.........he could fly better.............makes WAY more sense if he had only elevators and ailerons.......or a delta wing set up.......HE CAN FLY......BUT ITS HARDER IF YOU MAKE A PLANE FLY LIKE CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and chad was laughing when he crashed lol........it was pretty funny though
Weight difference is "nominal"??? I think you meant negligible :D

I have just bought Turningy motor and Propyou specified from Hobby Kings.. gonna make that thing :-)

Nice BluDart, got one myself i built 2 years ago, still flies well.
I put my servos a bit further back and battery sits more or less mid wing position.
If you add a little more dihedral, it will roll in a similar manner to a Nutball.
I only fly mine outside as no indoor around here.
BW 1300 and 9X5 on 2 cells, I only use a 10 amp esc as well, 18 is way over spec and adds unnessary weight, lighter flies better as they say.
Enjoy your vids, keep it up

What a shame you put on a TURNIGY neck strap on a SPEKTRUM DX8 radio.
freemarlochip 1 year ago
@freemarlochip I LOVE Turnigy! Plus the metal swivel on the Spektrum DX8 neckstrap scratched the display. The Turnigy one does not.
Thanks
