Billy Graham is the greatest living evangelist and I thank God for him, yet Billy would give all the glory to God our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank the Lord for that precious day in 1989 when I came to Christ in Crystal Palace stadium at the Billy Graham LIFE Mission in London. To God Be The Glory - Great Things He Hath Done.
Despite being a Latter-day Saint, I have to say he is a great preacher, and a devout follow of Christ, who God will reward in the afterlife. His preaching style is entertaining but gets the messages across well. I confess he would have made a great General Authority! If only more Protestant who wish to remain strong Protestants listen to him - if not they are more than welcome to listen to our missionaries ;)
I used to be a devout religious believer, but turned away from faith in LIES after my dear younger brother committed suicide 5yrs ago.
Getting our Priest to hold the funeral at all was hard enough- he kept preaching about self-killing being a mortal sin & that my bro would burn in hellfire for eternity. Half the family didn’t turn up as they were taught to believe the same crap, & some of those that did actually SPAT AT THE COFFIN, both in church & as it was lowered into the ground.

Suicide isn't really a mortal sin, there is no inspired verse that says that. What the Law and the Lord did say is to your neighbor as yourself, as the Lord does. Jesus didn't spit on a coffin, he raised the person in the coffin from the dead.

@PrincessAmandaTV Because they like to get informed on the things they don't believe in and they try to understand why the others don't think like them (instead of just thinking: fuck them, they'll go to Hell, so I don't have to listen to them). @paladin313, my problem man suffers the for the inequity of the father. Doesn't that mean when on judgement day, I get judged it's not it'll be n my sins, rather than somewhat taking the blame. This does sit well with me, why would I receive punishment for someone else' sins. N if god did that to his son, does that mean god loves us more than his son
@kamina77 God came down to earth in the form of Jesus, who is an extension(so to speak)of the father. When Jesus died on the cross, God Himself was dying for man. It's not that God loves humans more than Jesus, rather HE loves us enough to die on the cross for us. Yes, God is Jesus, and Jesus is God. When we learn to understand that Jesus walked the earth as flesh, but was God, we will understand who the man on the cross actually was. God (the father) sent Jesus(also God) to earth to die for us.

Help me out here. "Our hearts are FAAAAAR from God". I know this seems (and is) naive, but aren't our hearts a creation of said God, at least according to the gospels, so mightily orated by Mr. Graham, among others? What am I missing?
@Orson6090 Yes, God made the heart, but mankind corrupted it. The reason this happened is God gave man free will and liberty to worship him as we choose, and not by force. Man took that liberty and turned it into license. Thus, the God made heart became corrupt from the first man on down, and passes to us, but Jesus came and paid for our sins so that the corruption could be removed, and rose from the dead and acts as our mouthpiece before God if we accept what He did. My father brought me as a young child to see the Rev. Graham this same year. I could not fully grasp the subtlety of his message, but he has always conveyed spiritual truths in way that could nourish any of God's countless sheep. Rev. Graham's ministry continues to inspire mine to this day, and it is an honor to stand quite literally on the shoulders of his mighty work.

I read in the news today Billy Graham was hospitalize today. He caught a terrible bug and he could die because of his age. I hope he does not die and recover.

The day I realized how useless my intelligence is (not saying it's not useful in everyday life) the day I realized I needed to give JESUS a chance. No, i was moving my own legs, breathing from my own mouth, and trying to mentally cope with what i'm going through, BUT God did guide me so that i could physically train on my own for this event, he gave me the strength to last that long, he mentally has helped me in ways you can't imagine. It's not easy for you to understand if you have not experienced it. But once you have, you will know what i mean.

If you don't believe in God you will go to hell, but Jesus is the way out. If you believe Jesus Is the Christ and believe that he died for you on the cross, then rose again. @vkvladman God does not hate anyone. You can do all the good works in the world and it will still not make a difference, if your heart is not right with Him. We are all sinners from birth. The price for our sin is death that is why God sent His Son to die in our place for our sins. Jesus died for all of your sins. Your intelligence did not lead you away from Him, your sin leads you away from him, it is up to each of us to SEEK Him. If you do not seek Him with all your heart youll never hear him.

We need a revival. Todays churchs is all about who has the loudest praise band or who can beat the drums. We need to get back to the old time religon, with preaching and the sounds of a glorious choir raising the roof and not being drowned out with guitar and drums and annoying video screens on the wall. We need to hear the truth of Gods grace, not some watered down feel-good plastic banana good time rock and roll. Can I hear and AMEN?
When I was approximately 7 years old I lived in New York City, in the projects. I was diagnosed with ulcers. I remember the doctor saying to me "What are you doing with a rich old man's illness". I also remember seeing Billy Graham on television, and he was saying if you want to be cured, put your hand on the screen and I'll pray with you. I put my hand on the screen and was instantly healed. If the world were filled with unexplainable phenomena, then people try to explain it, and write down their musings, with exaggerations to make the resulting text seem more important. This has happened in every human culture, which explains why every culture ended up with a different one. To me, this seems far more likely than the notion that there is one "right" mythology and hundreds of "wrong" ones.

The Catholic Church stood in the way of Galileo's theories for decades. Today the same thing is happening with evolution; evolution has led to dozens of medical discoveries, yet Christianity is preventing its teaching in school, which is depriving us of potential medical researchers.

@anbubishop You say we have free will--which is a term that probably has no rigorous meaning, but I digress--and yet isn't it true that people born into atheist families are more likely to be atheist? The decision to accept God can't be attributed entirely to something 'internal'. It depends on factors God could control. Hence God is still unfair to send people to hell for not believing.

i got home from football practice this afternoon im laying in the couch sleeping, the tv his on and in the back of my head im hearing this guy preaching. I start waking up and watch him preach for an hour, one of the recaps of his crusades. I don't know who he his but i research him and find out his Billy Graham, for someone like me being 16 living in this society where teenagers smoke and have sex and do drugs, to wake up and stare at the tv for 50minute while Graham preaches is a miracle!
@lagdance u r rigght...but dont u think its better if u went and do homework or study and try to learn more so u can help society in a more practical way rather than simply sit there watching for hours and thinking to urself i need this to keep myself from doing bad things....a true rational being undestand wats right and wrong without god...becuz society are created to assure every crime gets a greater punishment....

@humbleb4god Evolution and social Darwinism predict that animals/societies would have moral compasses. Any society (or species) in which the members help out one another is more likely to survive than one where they don't.
Then again, a better question is this: if it's God that created our moral compasses, why are they broken for some people? Why do we get Hitlers and Bin Ladens? Isn't saying that they 'strayed from the path' just giving up on the hope that we can understand them?

@paladin313, my problem man suffers the for the inequity of the father. Doesn't that mean when on judgement day, I get judged it's not it'll be n my sins, rather than somewhat taking the blame. This does sit well with me, why would I receive punishment for someone else' sins. N if god did that to his son, does that mean god loves us more than his son

@kamina77 God came down to earth in the form of Jesus, who is an extension(so to speak)of the father. When Jesus died on the cross, God Himself was dying for man. It's not that God loves humans more than Jesus, rather HE loves us enough to die on the cross for us. Yes, God is Jesus, and Jesus is God. When we learn to understand that Jesus walked the earth as flesh, but was God, we will understand who the man on the cross actually was. God (the father) sent Jesus(also God) to earth to die for us.

Help me out here. "Our hearts are FAAAAAR from God". I know this seems (and is) naive, but aren't our hearts a creation of said God, at least according to the gospels, so mightily orated by Mr. Graham, among others? What am I missing?

@Orson6090 Yes, God made the heart, but mankind corrupted it. The reason this happened is God gave man free will and liberty to worship him as we choose, and not by force. Man took that liberty and turned it into license. Thus, the God made heart became corrupt from the first man on down, and passes to us, but Jesus came and paid for our sins so that the corruption could be removed, and rose from the dead and acts as our mouthpiece before God if we accept what He did. I could not fully grasp the subtlety of his message, but he has always conveyed spiritual truths in way that could nourish any of God's countless sheep. Rev. I read in the news today Billy Graham was hospitalize today. He caught a terrible bug and he could die because of his age. I hope he does not die and recover.
Judgement Day is suppose to begin this month May 21, 2011 and the world is suppose to be destroyed on Dec 21. 2012.

The day I realized how useless my intelligence is (not saying it's not useful in everyday life) the day I realized I needed to give JESUS a chance. NOTHING I've ever sought or experienced can match the Love, the peace, the joy, the freedom, the breakthrough, the revelations, the favor and the fellowship I have with God. NOTHING. I could study and build my intellect but at the end of the day, I could die in my sleep and would have absolutely no power to stop it. Then what? I can't save myself.

No, i was moving my own legs, breathing from my own mouth, and trying to mentally cope with what i'm going through, BUT God did guide me so that i could physically train on my own for this event, he gave me the strength to last that long, he mentally has helped me in ways you can't imagine. It's not easy for you to understand if you have not experienced it. But once you have, you will know what i mean.

If you don't believe in God you will go to hell, but Jesus is the way out. If you believe Jesus Is the Christ and believe that he died for you on the cross, then rose again. You can pray to God and confess your a sinner and confess Jesus is the Christ. Then ask Jesus into your heart then you are born again.

@vkvladman God does not hate anyone. You can do all the good works in the world and it will still not make a difference, if your heart is not right with Him. We are all sinners from birth. The price for our sin is death that is why God sent His Son to die in our place for our sins. Jesus died for all of your sins. Your intelligence did not lead you away from Him, your sin leads you away from him, it is up to each of us to SEEK Him. If you do not seek Him with all your heart youll never hear him.

We need a revival. Todays churchs is all about who has the loudest praise band or who can beat the drums. We need to get back to the old time religon, with preaching and the sounds of a glorious choir raising the roof and not being drowned out with guitar and drums and annoying video screens on the wall. We need to hear the truth of Gods grace, not some watered down feel-good plastic banana good time rock and roll. Can I hear and AMEN?

When I was approximately 7 years old I lived in New York City, in the projects. I was diagnosed with ulcers. I remember the doctor saying to me "What are you doing with a rich old man's illness". I also remember seeing Billy Graham on television, and he was saying if you want to be cured, put your hand on the screen and I'll pray with you. I put my hand on the screen and was instantly healed. If the world were filled with unexplainable phenomena, then people try to explain it, and write down their musings, with exaggerations to make the resulting text seem more important. This has happened in every human culture, which explains why every culture ended up with a different one. To me, this seems far more likely than the notion that there is one "right" mythology and hundreds of "wrong" ones.

The Catholic Church stood in the way of Galileo's theories for decades. Today the same thing is happening with evolution; evolution has led to dozens of medical discoveries, yet Christianity is preventing its teaching in school, which is depriving us of potential medical researchers.

@anbubishop You say we have free will--which is a term that probably has no rigorous meaning, but I digress--and yet isn't it true that people born into atheist families are more likely to be atheist? The decision to accept God can't be attributed entirely to something 'internal'. It depends on factors God could control. Hence God is still unfair to send people to hell for not believing.

You are right for a young teen that took time to listen to this message and messenger it was God's Holy Spirit bringing you to know the Creator of the universe and Savior Jesus Christ continue to enjoy the miracle in your life and I personally believe God has a calling for you if this experience happened to you. i got home from football practice this afternoon im laying in the couch sleeping, the tv his on and in the back of my head im hearing this guy preaching. I start waking up and watch him preach for an hour, one of the recaps of his crusades. I don't know who he his but i research him and find out his Billy Graham, for someone like me being 16 living in this society where teenagers smoke and have sex and do drugs, to wake up and stare at the tv for 50minute while Graham preaches is a miracle!

@lagdance u r rigght...but dont u think its better if u went and do homework or study and try to learn more so u can help society in a more practical way rather than simply sit there watching for hours and thinking to urself i need this to keep myself from doing bad things....a true rational being undestand wats right and wrong without god...becuz society are created to assure every crime gets a greater punishment....

@gkcnae You really think without any God or higher moral mind in the cosmos of the universe, that society would have the ability to judge with a moral compass? In no way. We can do our homework on our own time, however, we chose to look up at God. Give me any instance where a society with no religion was able to stand morally.

@humbleb4god Evolution and social Darwinism predict that animals/societies would have moral compasses. Any society (or species) in which the members help out one another is more likely to survive than one where they don't.
Then again, a better question is this: if it's God that created our moral compasses, why are they broken for some people? Why do we get Hitlers and Bin Ladens? Isn't saying that they 'strayed from the path' just giving up on the hope that we can understand them?
