Although, I am crazy about Gene Tierney, I was appalled by what her character did out of insane jealously to Danny and her unborn child. I rooted for Travis Bickle. The film captured the atmosphere on the streets of NYC in the 70s to a T! I did not want him to shoot any politicians, but those scumbags at the end were another matter. And the ending was brilliant. Yes, a real taxi driver just may have driven off like he did with so many other passengers. So, says I, a cognoscente of that era.
