It"s because of the Translation, in Japan, Marth is Pornounced as Mârusu or Mars.

Back then, several people outside of Japan were confused by the nature of the Japanese language. Sometimes the "s" in Japanese has to be changed to "th". I remember hearing the Japanese pronounce "thunder" as "sunder".

? Marsu = Mars = Marth. Same person, different romanization of his name. the su in Japanese is usualy an s sound, but for some unknown reason, in SSBM they romanized it with the alternate form of th. so the original official rominization was Mars, the newer one Marth. I like Mars better, for it fits the whole mythology feel of FE (almost all the names and places are taken from mythology in all the FE games)

In japanese, Mars becomes "Marth", and Marth becomes "mars".

Pronouncing the "th" gives a "ss" sound. so Aeris could be aerith in american. Mars could be Marth. his name depends on whether u rely more on original japanese or super smash brother's dialogue.

No, not really. You can say it's "officially" Marth, but translating it as Mars isn't wrong. It's just translating it by literal Hiragana spelling (Marth) versus translating it by actual pronunciation (since -th in hiragana sounds like -s, hence Mars). Both methods are perfectly legitimate.

Roy is from FE6, Ike is form FE9. This is FE1 (or the remake 3). you will not find either of them here. The main lord here is Mars.

The reson why the call Marth "Mars" is because the people in charge of produceing the english version misstranslated and tought it ment mars in japanese, whean Marth is a real name. So thats why the english subtiles and voices call him "Mars"

p.s. The person who plays Marth/aka: Mars is the same person who played him in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
