There is so much devastation and suffering caused by Tuesday's earthquake in my native home of Haiti. Over 3 million people impacted. The death toll is still unknown but estimated to be thousands. All this in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Haiti and other countires in the "global south" are thrid world because because we in first world live in incredible comfort at the expense of these other places. Every time you buy any electronic you are paying some militia man so he can buy more guns from the US government (the biggest gun runner in the world) to kid-nap some mans family so he will work in the mine so you can listen to music on your morning run.
