Many stereotypes in the US. I had a work permit for a couple of years with others from European countries (I´m hispanic) and saw many times the difference in treatment for them and other friends from hispanic origin who had work permits too. Being legal or not is irrelevant in my case.
personally, I believe that if you come in illegally are desperate for work to support their families. But they should think also that their are indigenous families who also need to support and two people can't occupy the same job. Illegals should file for their visa legally like my father did. He got in the USA through hard work and his education. There are many pathways to the USA, why not explore them all. My father was from Philippines tried for USA but got denied. He then tried for Australia, got there legally then studied. After that he applied again for USA then got a green card.
Stop doing short cuts, work hard, explore the pathways & follow the rules. That's the American way.

Illegals cost NY State taxpayers 9.4 billion dollars in benefits annually, they undercut established businesses and tradesmen, they clog schools, emergency rooms and jail cells, we have a major unemployment problem with about 1/4 of the working age population of LEGAL residents out of work. Illegals cost NY State taxpayers 9.4 billion dollars in benefits annually, they undercut established businesses and tradesmen, they clog schools, emergency rooms and jail cells, we have a major unemployment problem with about 1/4 of the working age population of LEGAL residents out of work. Take away the benefits and they will leave. Deport inmates directly and tell them it's chain gang time if they return. They send their pay to Mexico, not into the local economy as citizens would.
