viper7ryan, there are millions of 3D tutorials out there. You probably need to learn more of the terminology used in 3D. You can do Google searches using the name of your favorite 3D software+tutorial, and once you learn some techniques you can search for more tutorials on those techniques.

That said the best way to learn about animation is still to start with a pencil and paper. Search for the "12 principles of animation" and start drawing, that will give you the best foundation.

A lot of it is creative thinking and problem solving, usually there are many ways to achieve anything in 3D, and most of all practice! tutorials will only get you so far

that was awesome! as for the background, have a look at the duck dodgers in the 24 and half century. It was typically that bluish colour, so I think it's playing on that style for space
