Tim Russert was a good guy, by all accounts. A son, father, and husband. I mean no disrespect, but let's not fool ourselves to thinking he was some amazing journalist in the mold of Murrow. He didn't ask the tough questions in going into Iraq and played "gotcha" politics in the presidential debates, especially with Sen. Clinton. He had his own agenda enabled by his company, he hardly was the noble journalist people portray him to be.

You fail to realize that playing "gotcha" politics was Tim's way of keeping the candidates and everyone he interviewed on Meet the Press accountable for their words and actions. He DID ask the tough questions and he was not afraid to go after the answers. He wasn't perfect -- no one is. But you are simply being ignorant for not acknowledging the great man that he was.

Tim Russert wasn't biased, he probably was one of the only journalist that rolled old school. He took both Democrats and Republicans to task when it was appropriate. I have many friends on both sides of the polital fense that religously tuned into Meet the Press and have never heard before or since his death even hint that he wasn't fair. This Great man was the reason I loved politics and history. I am 29 and most every Sunday morning I watched Meet The Press and got an unmatched understanding of the week in politics. I will miss this man who never knew I existed but who has remarkably changed and affected my life for the better. I will miss you greatly and from now on and forevermore "if it's Sunday morning, it's meet the press".
