Wonderful! It's facinating to hear how she changed in 3 years. Much more chest voice in 74 and 75. In all 3, it must have been something about this role for her to easily hit the launchpad into the final E flat. She nails it and really holds it in all 3.

No fear.

I totally agree with you. She really nailed that E flat in all recordings. However, I like the 1975 version the best. The most thrilling bravura and more chest voice. When it come to pure coleratura, Beverly is almost unbeatable.

I also believe she was the best Operetta soprano of all times. Noboby sang a better Merry Widow. Like you, I miss her too.
