  • can i use switch control to control the electric flow to the hydrogen tap ?(i mean high low)tq

  • Most cells (including mine) require a switch that will through at least 15 amps to 30 amps.. but you can do that... the problem is that (like I did once) you may forget to turn off the cell when the car is off..

    John AArons

  • What kind of amp draw is there when a system using that many negative and positive plates create? And how thick are your plates? They dont look like they'd last too long, ast least not a year if you are pushing a lot of power. Just curious! =)

  • In fact you are wrong... That unit is one of the most solid blocks out there...

    John AArons

  • I saw the website. Is 430 SS better than the T-304, 312 etc? I know nothing about the contents of the metals. I was just thinking more neutral plates will lower the amps and reduce heat and corrosion. Sure its not as powerful but you would replace less plates in theory.

  • This is an old video... there are over 356 videos out there and my new cell "FOCUS" does use "Neutral" (Blank) plates..

    John AArons

  • what do you space the plates with

  • The "FOCUS" plates "NOW" use two 1/16" Nylon washer on each Nylon screw... giving you the 1/8th.

  • what did u use for spacers in between the plates?

  • This is an old video... the spacers are hand made 1/8 inch plastic.

    John AArons

  • have you ever tried a like a 1 fared capacitor from your battery so that the current changes will happen in the capacitor???? lets all keep trying :)

  • PLEASE help me out. wats the best way to turn hydrogen INTO electricity?

  • That is easy but expensive... a membrane is put between Hydrogen and Oxygen... the result is electricity.. but it is expensive.

    John AArons

  • thx dude

how much would u say it costs to make a cell

that would produce about 24V ? or multiple cells?

    thx

  • JA very nice design ....you may have answered this before....were do you get the plate metal?

    thx

  • This is an old unit... go to my site and you will see the newer unit... There are over 300 videos on this now... at my site is a button that will get you back to YouTube giving you them in order newest first..

  • I like the plate design where they can be placed as neg, pos or neutral. Instead of cutting the corners out completely you could just drill a hole larger than the bolts. Would there be any benefit or drawback to this? There would be more surface area. Maybe that would be a plus? It might make it easier to make since drilling a hole is easier than cutting a corner out.

  • Great idea, love the plate design, thanks for the video

  • You are many video behind... the new "FOCUS" cell you will like it... go to my site "hydrogen tap dot come" .. I have links to the new cell.

    John AArons

  • Do I have to have the three electrodes, or can I just have two long ones going through the holes (the alternating positive-negative plate setup)?

Because for my uncomplicated purposes, I may not need to shut off one of the sides.

  • in an stainless steel how much current do we get per square inch? so that i can compute the exact amount of amps required not to drain all my power from existing car battery. Lastly i would like to know what is the grade of your stainless steel?

once again thank you, keep up the good work.

  • The stainless I use is #430... as for the current... Unfortunately math is involved.. Volts times Amps gives you watts.. Watts is the important number. Amps is the product of the conductivity of the water between the plates..

    John AArons

  • Nice!

What material do you use in the plates that doesn't disolve in the water when running the current?

Any metal electrodes i've tested disolves at the anode - wich is useful for making iron oxide etc.

But it's not good for only making hydrogen/oxygen - all the oxygen is used to oxidize the disolved metal and the plates doesn't last for long.

How did you separate the oxygen/hydrogen?

  • The plates are "stainless steel" and after many tests they hold up fine..Thank you for your question... John AArons

  • ok - that's good

In my tests i used salt (NaCL) to improve the conductivity - that may affect the "corrode rate" of the plates.

In that case you get a very large area to the water and short distances for the current to travel thru the electrolyte so you probably dont need anything to improve conductivity.

I have a power source that can give about 40 amps so the generation of hygrogen/oxygen is pretty fast - it would be with a cell like that.

  • The amps go up when the resistance between the plates go down..... what I am doing is trying to get around that. There are ways to produce more Hydrogen without making the amps go up.... this is done by changing the design of the cell.

    John AArons

  • ok - that's interesting, you mean there is some way to use the voltage instead of high current? - i thought it was only the current that matters with electrolysis - i can othervise get up to 50 amps contineous with my powersource, if i use separate dc converters and no smoothing capacitors (they're not needed for electrolysis)

  • No.. what I am saying is that "that is what we need to do" That is what "the world is trying to do... If you use caps... all you are doing is trading one battery for another...

That is my words... John AArons

  • That's true but I don't know if it's possible because it's the electrons that "makes the conversion" - the more electrons passing at a given time the faster the gas is produced - it's not depending on the cell design

But the cell design is really important to improve the efficiency of the cell and keep the resistance down - the more voltage needed to get the same current the more energy is lost to heat.

You seem to be doing a good work with your cell

  • excellent tests thanks for sharing your info, inspiring thanks.

  • Thanks for your interest... John AArons

  • great work John . I think neutral plates seem to work. I have had some luck with very accurate and narrow spacing. I have tried zip ties worked ok but is still too wide apart. as the gap lessons , accuracy becomes extremly important. i covered all the edges as well. and have spaced as lil as one piece of elecrtical tape. but i am gonna tear it apart and try two. Neutral plates leave open the option of "turning on " more plates as load increases.

  • I am about to publish a new unit I think you will like... John AArons

  • john. i like your videos. how do you keep the green or brown crap from building up the cell? thank you

  • I now use "Distilled Water" and "Lye"... no more goo in the water... John AArons

  • Hey John, thats a really neat idea. Watching your videos always leaves me wiser, the test of a great idea in my mind is how simple it is! Do you deliberately scratch the plates where you drill them? Sanding is supposed to stimulate the production. Thanks heaps.

  • Those marks are from the grinder... after cutting holes the edges must be finished because the spacers must fit tight against the plates... Thanks for you interest.... John AArons

  • it does'nt matter wheather meyers cell or aarons cell produces more hydrogen...what both of them did is to educate us not to depends on fossil fuel..anyway..theres rooms for improvement...nice work john...

  • If it wakes them up .... that would be worth it... John AArons

  • have u heard about deionized water try it

  • To much to do to little time to try everything... John AArons

  • what about deionized water??

  • Don't know...."on the list".. The system I am using is putting out plenty of Hydrogen and the new system... (about to show you) does more... John AArons

  • glad to hear I will be waiting for your latest.

  • john, i think i may try to make a cell like yours.

the only think i dont wanna do is make it with the tapped holes. i think I'm just going to put in a nut in between eat plates and tighten them.

  • I tried that... believe me you don't want to do that.. once you get it together you can't take it apart....but... having said that... good luck... John AArons

  • When or did you make a plasma hydrogen machine?

  • I have not ever published such a system... John AArons

  • I just love the ease with which you can have neutral plates in this design....if not happy you could revert back to the regular config. Nice Design Aaron

The neutral plates reduce the Amp draw so its worth a try.

    R.

  • I think the "KISS" principle always works... the problem is just getting there... John AArons

  • Hi John got a question istn't the cell of meyers producing more oxygen then your plates. Why dont u test which form is making more oxygyn cause myself i think that the hydrogentap of meyers was making more oxygen and also looking at copies of his cell

  • I have been looking a t that for a long time ... I do not believe that.... John AArons

  • I'm pretty much with you on the neutral plate theory, but I gotta admit that as stupidly simple as it is, it is a pretty ingenious solution for those who want to experiment with it!

  • I put it out there... if I am wrong this design will soon prove it because it will allow others to do the tests that I am to lazy to do... John AArons

  • Very nice cant wiat to see this cell working in differnt config's

  • I can't wait to see what "they" will do with it.. These plates make it so easy to test not only the N plates but also the order of plate (+) (-) etc. ... John AArons
