this is an edited version... where's the line "...we got toilet paper...etc"?
Anyways, this puts the Rock'n'Roll Rebellion & Message Of Revolution where it stands today: A rock stadium parody. Homeless & other welfare recipients can't afford Gibson guitars...
This song has more relevance & direct significance today than it's ever had! Let's hope that 10 years from now---while listening to our super up-graded IPods while mowing the lawn or lying on the beach & with this song blasting---we still have the freedoms that enjoy today (through granted they're being slowly undermined & subverted as I write these words!)! FREEDOM!!!!!!
@LesPaul2006 But he's commenting about the US-Canada is basically a socialist country who actually care about there citizenry. I know, I'm American, my son was born in Canada and I lived up there for years-no homelessness, no graffiti, and the populace is much happier-standard of living is much higher in the Canada vs US.
Long before pearl jam? Here's a little fact for you. Song was released in 1989. Pearl Jam formed in 1990. In 1992 or 1993 they performed this song alongside Neil Young. There is also for sure a recorded version of this song with Neil playing with Pearl Jam. It's on his greatest hits album. It's quite possible that Pearl Jam is backing him in this video, although it would be more obvious if you could spot Eddie Vedder, which you can't. Learn your facts :)
Actually it's not possible at all. This is the album version of this song and Rick Rosas, Chad Cromwell, Frank Sampedro, and Ben Keith played on the album.
Thanks for correcting me. Although i was mainly commenting on the fact that in terms of when this song was released, it was not "long before pearl jam" and therefore because they must have had some kind of relationship with Neil Young around when the song was released it wouldn't be completely far-fetched that they could be backing him. I never actually said it was pearl jam backing him especially without being able to spot Vedder. But again, thanks for the insight.
A true classic, and more relevant every year that we race toward destruction.
