can u personalize msg tones? or do u have to use their polyphonic ones? cuz my T401G only lets u use polyphonic tones for txt nd pic msgs, also if u can customize ur msg tones can u customize them to individuals? like can u set a tone for each person or is it a blanket affair?
This is a really good phone. I use it with Net 10 unlimited. My main usage is calls, texts and pictures. The web browser does a job, but is not a full smartphone quality. The full qwerty keyboard is a real improvement.
I actually really like this phone. It's been incredibly useful and the funny thing is I have dropped it like a million times and there hasbeen NO problems. I call it the miracle phone. kinda silly I know. But it really is. Besides that I save so much money with it. I mean its 50 dollars cheaper than any other unlimited plan I know. you cant go wrong.
This is a really good recomendation for this phone. With an unlimited Net 10 package at $50 a month this is all the phone you need, and with the really great extras such as the qwerty keyboard, camera and mp3 player the best value that I have seen.
If you are a NET10 customer check out the new NET10 unlimited plan sold at Walmart. $50 for unlimited everything! They also have a new monthly plan selling for $25 which gives you 750 minutes per month. The REALLY good news is that you can switch between the two and use the unlimited plan some months like during the holidays and then use the 750 minute plan during other months.
This is a really great phone. I really enjoy being part of the pay as you go system rather than that of having a costly contract. I got this phone for my daughter and with the unlimited it only costs me $50 a month
The R451C for Net10 is pretty sick. My brother and I both got one for graduation presents and now two months into college, we both are very happy with it. Our service is great and our parents only have to pay 50 bucks for each of us and in return we get unlimited everything including talking, texting, and web.
@TommyTaurus wow...you're in college and you're still sucking milk out of your moms tits? Seriously, get a fucking job, and get your own damn cell phone. It's not cool, it's just pathetic.
this phone is years ahead of any thing els, its not a super computer phone, but you cant get such a great phone at such a low cost any where els, im on love with this phone, its so amazing, and you dont have to struggle with a contract, i only really pay $15 a month,
im 14 and thinking about getting this phone or the t401g. i like all the features of both but the t401g i think looks better. my friend said the camera is better too. but i like this phone cause i think the keyboard is easier to use for texting. cause of the spacing and rubber top, ect.
This phone makes me so happy, i have used net10 for a few years and its about time we got phones that are uber cool, they not Iphones but who wants an Iphone, this is stylish and its cost effective, you can afford a phone like this, and that makes it cooler than anything ells, net10 is affordable, and they have the best signal. I can use net10 any where, unlike other carriers
I just got this and I bought a micro sd card and have put some mp3 files on it, but they don't show up when I try to play them on my phone. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong ?
Im soo happy i came across your review, you have convinced me to sign up with NET10. I heard they have this new competition where you can win like $500 so i watched the commercial and it looks way tempting! net10laughoff(dot)com It made my day! =))
This phone has great features and is amazing value through net10. With 10c per minute and 3c per text net10 really is the biggest $ saver in prepaid and this phone allows you to take advantage of this to the full...
net10 is a cool service. recently dropped boost for net10 and it's the best thing i've done in a long time. much better coverage and clearer calls. texts sends immediately, not like boost, lol!
how do you download to the SD card that goes into the phone, I brought a 4gig pny sd card and i am getting nothing from it? would you have an answer for it., or anyone that understand how to us it.
The service is great on the the verizon network. The flat rate of 10 cents a minute and 3 cents a text saves me money. To all those with boost mobile out there, my recommendation is to switch, there service is a lot better and your probably save a bit of money too.
i got the samsung a177 for at&t and i got the unlimited plan for $60 a month and thats pretty pricey compared to $45 a month and ive been thinking of getting this phone from staraight talk to save myself a lil cash in my pocket but i dont wanna regret switching so can you please help me by letting me know if this is really worth getting and will i be happy with the straight talk service? thanks for the review
@EASTCOASTIN420 the last phone i had for net 10 waz a while ago so im not sure but, i called them and they said that they dont let you go on any website except net 10 website ?
who needs a iphone any more when you can get a pc, im done buying expensive phones that are amazing until you get the bill, this works, it really and truly does, its cheap and super reliable, best thing is the minutes are cheap, and the phone does everything you need it too.. plus you can travel and the phone has signal everywhere, plus there is no extra charges for national minutes. There is no carrier that beats this.
Nice long review, but did you realize you talked about the features for 10 1/2 minutes and did not say one thing about how clear the calls sound on the ear speaker, or how clear you sound to those who call via the mic? I mean, it's nice that it has a mp3 player, camera, etc., but it's a PHONE. It would have been nice to hear about the actual phone call quality. Just sayin'.
I have this R451 on the Straight Talk Unlimited plan for only $45 per month, unlimited everything!
This phone rocks! This is my first 'serious' phone, my previous ones being very limited budget models. I am VERY impressed with both the phone and Straight Talk's service and coverage. Try it, you will not be disappointed!
Boost mobile is fuckin horriable!! i have the most expensive phone!! sumtime i cant even read mssg and prolly miss 4 or 5 calls a day...im getting this phone and it off verizon tower!! service is great ..ill rather saved just 5 bucks then got through the bullshit with boost.
In my area, this phone service uses Verizon towers, but in other areas it could use others. It depends on who Net10 partners with in your area. Boost probably does a similar thing, but could be causing issues on their end. Not sure. I have had excellent service with this phone, better then AT&T and Sprint. I get a signal EVERYWHERE, even in places I did not with other phones and carriers. I guess Verizon really does have a better system then most.
@tmizzlebmx yeah I haven't had a problem with Net10, the service is usually great and I've read that it actually does use the Verizon towers so that explains the great quality of service but I literally have not had a dropped call yet.
You would only save $5/month, plus I do not know how internet access is on your Clutch. That might be your deciding factor, and possibly network coverage, if you have an issue with Boost coverage.
No, it costs the same as voice calls, $.10/minute, but with this phone, texting is $.03 instead of the regular $.05 as it is on most other net10 and tracfones.
Net10 has the same service as Tracfone. Both probably have the best in the USA since they use all the major cellphone services. In some areas, you Net10 phone will use Verizon towers, in other areas it uses Cingular (or sprint) towers. The phone will show when you are roaming, but the cost is always the same, $.10/minute. But I believe your internat access does nt work whne roaming.
@sterlz30 no, it's not, look at coverage for tracfone then for net10, it's not the same, tracfone has better coverage as they limit the coverage on net10 phones as they are cheaper to use.
well the government uses tracfone services for the safelink program.. tracfone and net10 uses cingular, t-mobile, verizon and all tell towers.. so basically u dont have to rely on the coverage map.. if ittellls u that u have a coverage in the map for the service that doesnt mean ur phone will work in ur area.. or other areas..
@gutzy999 never mind, but they used to be different. But, I'm just innocently wondering, why don't they just drop TracFone and keep Net10? It seems net10 is a lot more popular than TracFone. I barely see anyone with a TracFone anymore.
Just got this phone on sale for 30 bucks :)
