I found a way to play Earthsiege 2 and similar games when they give the "Not enough virtual memory" error in Windows XP: lower your virtual memory start size to 100 MB and the maximum size to 500 MB, then save and restart your PC. Don't forget to change it back after playing. As for the setup.exe playing a sound without appearing: right click it in the task bar, select "move" and then use the left arrow to make it appear.

Ogres make for the frontline assaulter; they kill the front troops and damage the base, so use ogres only for base assault or when the mission involves lots of enemies ahead of you. NEVER let them behind you, or you are pulp. If you get really good with the Ogre, you can make even the most elite hybrid break out in hives.

Haha I remeber how I stacked this baby full off miniguns. I was out of ammo quite quick, but I could lay waste to at least 20 Herc's.

The Ogre is good as long as you have at least 1 guy for backup and assuming it's relatively flat ground, and you dont get surrounded.

even then, that only helps you go faster in a straight line. If you get surrounded by faste enemies who actually have a brain, then you're screwed
And on any kind of hill it is PAINFULLY slow...
If I need to dish out firepower I try to stick with medium HERCs and just aim really well
