This reminds me of the "Something Good" scene from THE SOUND OF MUSIC, with Julie as Maria singing with Christopher Plummer's Captain Georg Von Trapp. The place where they are singing even looks the same.

This is over years ago, but I distinctly remember that Plácido introduced the song they were about to sing a being composed by "Plácido Domingo", and when Julie asked, "Oh, you wrote it?", he said it was his so, Plácido Domingo Jr. !

I remember ths came from 1985 or so, and this song they are singing was introduced by Placio as bein composed by "Placido Domingo", and when Julie asked "oh, you composed it?", he said, it was his son Placido Domingo Jr.!

This kind of reminds me of Julie as Maria singing with Christopher Plummer's Captain Von Trapp "Something Good" in THE SOUND OF MUSIC. Even the place looks alike.

I have this on VHS somewhere. Isn't this the special that's also w/ John Denver? The range of talents and such different musical styles would seemingly not work, but it did so and magnificently!!! They don't make specials like this anymore. :( The last I remember was Kathie Lee Gifford's w/ Kathy Mattea and Aaron Neville. That was also fantastic!

Truly amazing. I've enjoyed Julie Andrews' voice ever since hearing her in The Sound of Music back in 1965. This was a very lovely video.

Placido nearly reduced me to tears this time. What a MARVELOUS voice, it gives me goosebumps!! I can imagine that the Archangels of God must sound exactly like this when they sing in Heaven....

Placido never ceases to amaze me...he conducts, sings opera, and plays the piano!! And he does it all extremely well!! Julie Andrews has such a BEAUTIFUL voice, I will never get tired of listening to her. Her movies are all timeless classics, she truly is one of the greatest legends in the acting industry. They sound MAGNIFICENT together, they should make a movie together!!
