Damn, all the technical talk is lost on this white boy. I've never had the discipline to learn and practice formally. I'm a feel-it only guy, which has hindered my playing. oh, I can groove, but try to get too fancy I'm exposed as a fraud!
i thought it was a triplet thing, u have 1 too many notes in that. can u get back to me cause thats kinda like something i do anyways . and it would be easy to put in some things. cool. ill watch this space.
Yeah your right it's not a triplet thing like i originally said in the clip however the lick is based off of a 16th note triplet lick that i like to do demonstrated at 1:07 in the clip......thanks for the words
So the whole lick is in a grouping of 10. How does that work when laying a beat down to shedding the lick? Do you just go by feel/pulse or do you just hold on to your seat and pray for "1"?
I love the lick and really want to learn it - just seems that the sticking makes it not flow so nice. I dunno.
the best way to shed this lick is to set a click and play a groove and then play a bar of the lick, all it is is playing 10/16ths in 4/4 time, the sticking is very important in this lick, By starting with the kick and accenting on the right hand using this sticking helps it flow and gives it flare in my opinion, also start the lick slow using only the kick snare and floor tom and then move it around the kick
the lick is really simple, and i apoligize for not breaking it all the way down, but if you think of a dbl paradiddle diddle and add an extra diddle with the foot at the begining or the end then you got it
So isn't the sticking FRLRLRRLLF? if you start of the kick? This lick is nice tho

I'd say you'd be more of a fraud if you could do all the fancy stuff but, couldn't groove!
