  • danm as im typing this im blowing my xbox ( thats what she said)... i didnt know that was the problem at all, i saw the dust come and it just blew my mind.... shit bro dust is everywhere i dont even think i got it all out over 20 mins of blowing

  • Thx man

  • It worked thanks

  • Same here I did that and works ok

  • I used a paintball gun and removed my hard drive on my x box and shoot Co2 into it with the barrel 4 or 5 inches back so it wouldn't damage it. The dust came out and it worked fine my x box hasn't been overheating

  • lol maybe you needed it to brake down cus you were looking like you hadn't moved from the tv in weeks bro.....whats up with ah shave?

  • my AC Adapter was orange/red and i opened up my console and cleaned it and now im getting this.

  • u talk like in a Japanese movie

  • i did this with that, a vaccum and i blew air into it.. it just made it run shorter FML

  • i have no dust in my xbox but it still overheats

  • @BATTLEFEELD3 Replace the thermal paste.

  • @BATTLEFEELD3 CPU and GPU overheats...

  • Thanks dude. Good idea. Sweet bro.

  • Don't break the microsoft seal!!!

  • Now u have 31 sub's :)

  • when i turn on mine it does 2 lights right away i dont know what to do

  • u look like big show

  • haha i think rrod is cool buy a real gameing rig

  • It worked Thanks dude

  • and i also have the problem where i can only get through about 1 game of anything on live

  • how about a vacuum?

  • I use extremely powerful and loud leaf blower pushed my xbox 5 ft so I taped it down and it didnt work

  • The company's do it on purpose so we pay to fix and buy new ones. Fuck the government!

  • I LOVE YOU THNX SO MUCH

  • i would tell microsoft 2 fix it after i just spent hundreds of dollars buying an xbox & im not going 2 spend a hundred more

  • my xbox is on a cold floor Problem solved... :3

  • Pay 99 bucks that is bullshit they just want are money ok we pay 19.99 a month for a 3 month and 50 bucks for a 12 month membership that is just stupid that's why I wanna go to ps3

  • i used an air pump for an air mattress to do this... XD.

  • thanks a shit ton bro! i never would of thought to use the air pump i have in my garage to fix my xbox. haha thanks a million it works fine now!!

  • Just use a hair drying and switch it to cold air

  • @Karl88ful GREAT IDEA!

  • Great video! Saved me $90!

For those who don't have an air compressor, this is what I did. I took of the faceplate, those grey things on the top and bottom, and my harddrive and basically swept all the dust out of the outside parts. The in order to get to the dust on the inside I got a paintball gun and emptied all the balls so it just shot out co2, then shot air into the ventilation holes all along the xbox. As a I did this dust poofed out everywhere, I repeated about 10 times until no more

  • It seems to work fine now, thanks a lot bro.

I'm sick and tired of all these xbox 360 scams, 99$ to remove a bit of dust... fucking stupid

  • im nto enjoying playing on my ps3 cause im waiting for the ylod

  • Seems to have worked for me :D Thanks sooooooo much!!!! We're on our 3rd Xbox and you saved us yet another $90. This is one of the best videos ever.

  • It worked for me too! thank you. but I put a shop vac to the side when I blew it out.

  • IT WORKED!!!!

  • thank you, loads of dust came out of my xbox to

  • they make them cheap and sell them for triple the price they had bought to make the dang thing....They did that to put more money in there pocket. If they really wanted to they could prolly make the 360 run on end.

  • @Mickaroo7 Thanks man if this works youll be a life saver cuz this has been happening to me also my disc try has been jamming and i play black ops and my games dnt save like if i go 10-0 Serarch i can play prob one game of search which is like 5-10mins and its pissing me off so if this works thanks

  • If you want to learn how to repair Xboxes at least learn from someone that know what they are talking about and shows proof of background I invite you to visit my channel and look around start with pasting this in the search “BYdy5x7-k9E”

  • it didnt work

  • yeah well mine did the same thing and i did the air compresser thingy but in a couple of weeks it starts to do i t agian!! so if the same thing is happening to you vote up so ppl can see

  • if you have lungs of steel like mine i just blew out the dust from the back where the two fans are located.... worked perfect

  • @ravedoby LOL! but put a vac on the side to suck out the bad stuff.

  • @ravedoby This may work but air compressors were invented partly because when u blow u can transfer static electricity to the board. this would not be good. though the chances of this are pretty slim to happen.

  • Thanks I fixed it, it was only dust!

  • i did this, took my xbox to work, blew it out with a high pressure compressor, lots of just dust came out and so far no more red rings, plus it runs a lot quitier, good tip...cheers

  • READ: Another way to try and fix this is by taking a Q-tip and going in and out through the holes. Dusting it off, etc. Blow some air in the back once your done. Do it every once in a while so it doesnt happen.

  • i had 2 lights also, its three lights you cant fix

  • @PY4sale1 i fixed a 3 red light console my friend over the road got it free ,he plays it all day and night ,its lasted over 2 months so far .

  • @PY4sale1 you can fix 3, you reset the software on your xbox

  • @STONED5NiiPERZx htree can also mean that dust is burned into the system and cant be fixed, the lights can mean different things

  • if your get 2 red lights and you know its not dust message me i tell you where i put the fix (give you link) .Iv helped out 200 people so far.

  • Great advice, worked like a charm. $5 donation is worth saving myself $100.

  • This works. I did the same trick but modified it. I turned the xbox 360 on. As soon as i heard the overheating start, i quickly blew air into the back of the console cooling it down on those patches that are underneath the motherboard. WARNING! If you blow one of the patches off the motherboard (VERY HARD TO DO) but if you do. Your totally screwed and stupid.

  • my xbox cant go 3 minutes without shutting down

  • @PY4sale1 there is another fix some consoles do it even though theres no dust in them ,iv fix 5 so far ,message me ill tell you where iv put the fix and its free.

  • @TERMINATOR2452 i fixed mine with this method, it was just dust inside

  • @PY4sale1 its not allways dust iv fix 3 that had no dust inside ,but when you turn it on you get 2 redlights straight away ........X-CLAMP and a hairdryer fixed them...

  • first i got the 3 lights which completly screws u cus have to send it in then i got this so i will definetly try that

  • would a bike pump do the job? I dont have a dust compressor. i tryed the vacuum but that didn't work.

  • Are these the 2 red lights that alternate from bottom to top 2 lights?

  • hey it 's working like a champ now! i don't have an air compressor so, i used my wet/dry vac to do the job. i used the blower side of the vac and etc...thanks

  • Hey man. I bet this is whats wrong with mine bc the room stays so dusty. Im gonna pick up an air compressor tom and hopefully itll work. Thanks for the vid.

  • You look high, but functioning enough to give this suggestion... which worked great.

    Thanks

  • oh and thanks i used the same thing now air compresser is cheaper and helps alot better.

  • HAHA dude ur awsome just thought ide let ya know...

    thanks

  • Thank Ya (:

  • Heck ya this worked out great thanks dude!

  • hahahhaha i like how u ask for a donation through paypal at the bottom of ur description...all u did was tell us to use an air compressor why would i pay you hahahaha douche

  • @TheMelonhead15 Hahahhaha I like how you say he's asking for donations when he's clearly not dumbass. Learn to read?

  • heck i replaced my fan, and cleaned out everything and it still overheats.

  • what i find wierd is that a ps1 or w/e the old consoles are DOESN'T get red lights or fuck up yet a next generation consolse does.

    what the flab.

  • @alastair5391 yea its fucking Microsoft that wants money who can blame them a red light amperes because they didnt make it good and they bought fucking cheap ass stuff

  • @alastair5391 its because they all use lead free solder now .But its crap,ps3 use the same.

  • @alastair5391 Because theyre simple and shitty. Higher demanding consoles that are more complex are just like real computers which fuck up.

  • @alastair5391 Probably far less complicated machinery inside

  • @alastair5391 "are doesn't"?

  • @alastair5391 they are more complex

  • @alastair5391 That's because today's consoles need a faster graphics processor. Faster processing=hotter. What I don't get is why they put a shitty fan in consoles when they could use an aftermarket fan like pc gamers do.

But in this case its just dust.

  • hey thats what mine did i did the same thing about uhhhh 4 or 5 weeks it worked then same thing now its like every 5min and it shuts off

  • @goldlink89 go get one of those electric cleaners nuetralizes the dust and if in the mean time shut it off for a day and then youll be able to play for an hour or 2 thats what i do with mine untill i get the elctric cleaner.

  • Yeah this really works I did this and my xbox is a okay.

  • you cold just let it cool of for an hour

  • thanks your awesome

  • no wonder the xbox 360 gets the red ring of death when i opened it it says MADE IN CHINA!! (im not racist).

  • @multiradiokiller dumbass. everything these days are made in china. including ps3

  • game stop gives store credit for defective x boxes if there not open, just something to consider . I tried this and this and it didn't work for me, thanks for the video

  • what if you use one of those fans to pump air mattresses? Will that work?

    Please answer...l

  • could uuse a fan

  • This works! There was a shit load of dust coming out of the Xbox And remeber you need a Air crompressor if you don't have one ask neighbors!

  • nigga this shit is fresh son!

  • This is great advise. I had the 2 rings and I opened mine to clean the dust out though. It was already out of warranty though so I wouldn't recommend opening it if the warranty is still good. BUT... After about 8 months mine crashed with the 3 red lights! I just tried to fix it with the x-clamp fix yesterday and it didn't work. :( Still have the 3 red rings. I guess the good news is that the 'new' xbox just came out and I can go spend another 300 bucks on it. HMMMMMM!!!!!!!!

  • thx for the advice i'll try it, i was beginning to think i have to buy a new xbox

but i always thought things in the xbox could broke wenn you use an air compressor ? and i hope the warranty sticker dont rips cause my 2 years warranty is over but i have another year warranty if the ring of death comes up

  • Thanks bro, great advice!

  • can u use a tire pump if it is really small

  • i play like 10 secs and my fucks up

  • triple thumps up bro thanks a lot

  • yeah i have 2 red rings and when i turn it on the fan stays on for about a 1 second and turns off i cant fix it dont no what to do please i really need help

  • If you call microsoft and file a complaint if its a good complaint, they will call you back about your xbox rrod and they'll give you a new one for free, it worked for me 3 times now.

  • @MCCproductions6 lol rly 3 times

  • @fspsyco1 Ya legit lol the third time it almost didnt work i had to freak on the dude i was like WTF YOU HAVE HORRIBLE SERVICE SEND ME TO YOUR FUCKING MANIGER hahaha

  • i have to say, i traded my exbox for a psp go and i had problems with it but i saw this video and i thought about it so i took it apart it wasnt hard like 6 minutes time and walla it was so dirty from the inside. so i used my kirby vacume and vacumed the systems interior and left it spotless now its working like a brand new xbox i have to say THIS ACTUALLY WORKS....

  • i sent mine in for free

  • @goodkid57 Because you had warranty

  • I've watched your video and my Xbox 360 is suffering from the 2 red rings and from online help I've tried to open the airways and kept it off carpet. But nothing worked and since I don't have an air compressor will anything else work as a substitution? Please send a reply as soon as you can, I really don't want to fork out a ton of money just to get it replaced and wait a long time only for it to mess up again.

  • @WeskerFangirl92

mine did the same damn thing and instead of a compressor i bought one of those compressed gas dusters from office max for seven bucks and it works fine.

  • @jruben1994

If that works could you give me the name and brand of the compressed gas duster you got from Office Max. That would be very much appreciated, thanks.

  • @WeskerFangirl92

its office max brand, just ask for help at your local store, and ask for a compressed gas duster.

  • @WeskerFangirl92 use a vacume it worked for me but i took it apart its not hard

  • um when u say to pump air into the back exactly where do u mean like da holes in da back?

  • same the screen just goes blank isn't it? Mine is secondhand trade in Xbox 2360 but I think it's the cables I only plug two my tv's like shit man

  • thank you from saving me from feeding money into bill gates big ass wallet

  • My 360 did the same, after watching this vid i didnt go and buy an air compressor, i just used a vaccum to suck out the dust and it worked...cool huh...

  • alright so i got them and then my xbox randomly shut off and now wont turn on like its completely dead!

  • it works perfectly now and for those who dont elive try it and watch all the shit that comes out the back it works well at 40-60psi then ramp it up to 100 or so and get the hard stuff out

  • this is how you do it...go out and find a high quality hooker and a can of dust off from cvs have the hooker give one swift blow to the console the dust will cake up to one side and then finish the job with the dust off gun from cvs....

  • 'coughs' lets see some evedence of that air compressor

  • the dust will come back. may fix now, but will comeback later, so regular matinence should be REQUIRED (like computers)

  • he said blow nozzle,lol:O

  • can you do the towel trick on two rings????

  • @STATiKoSHOKo NEVER DO THE TOWEL TRICK

  • @STATiKoSHOKo no cuz that the towel trick just resetys u cosole and fucks up your motherboard functioning but the dust will still be there

  • What if you have two of the ever so crappy "inner coolers" and a fan on the stupid xbox and it still over heats?....

  • sorry dude it's not always that simple, trust me.

  • thanx dude it worked i thought my x box wasnt gonna live to get to play my pre ordered UFC 2010 ..subscribe to me and ill do the same

  • thanks man I'll try it hope it works

  • If you disassemble the outer case then blow it out, it will work better.

  • Thank u it worjs perfectly

  • thanks man

  • i love u so much i took the case off and cleand it and it words i love u

  • Can someone help me? I have an Xbox 360. And the problem is, I have red ring, but when I turn it off then back on, my xbox is perfectly normal, but after an hour or thirty minutes, it happens again. This process happens again and again, and im afraid one day its goin to die on me.

  • hell yea red neck way to do it! thats how we get it done in texas!

  • 2 flashing lights is not only overheating, the heatsinks are pushing down on the chips because of those x-clamps.

  • 3 idiot!

  • ur fat

  • allow me to get down on my hands and knees and suck you godlike golden balls

you have saved me my life

  • ya my xbox does not even last a full game of mw2 it starts and the fans just spining rapidly i probly dont recomend the compresed air cuz u can damage somthing in the xbox

  • dude i play mine for 2 fuckin minutes and it shuts off

  • thanks man your great!!!!!

  • thank you man

  • the reason i dont belive this, you have no legit evidence of "spewing dust" i didnt see the xbox playing, and an air compressor can be powerful enough to knock somthing loose and screw your xbox

  • @nna2sb2 why would he lie?

  • @alexjalaff why would people post the towel trick? think about it

  • thats stupid

  • Wait so how exactly do you do this?

can you use a basket ball pump?

where do I put the nozzle? and how should I open the xbox???

  • @ikoas HAHAHA no its not powerful enough

  • i didn't have the air so i just put my xbox in the freezer... it still doesn't work

  • @1sergio1234 wow man you put it in th freezer lol

  • thanks man big help

  • I LOVE YOU (no homo) thanks man it workd

  • mine turns on and comes on with the 360 symbol and crap but then shuts off and the 2 lights flash...anyone have any ideas? i previously had the 3 lights but fixed that and now its gone down to 2 :S

  • @fender5829 im havin the same exact problem im so tempted to use my wedding money to buy a ps3

  • @j5tj lollllllllllllllllll

  • I got rid of the dust, it fixed it for only a few days btw.

  • after I open my xbox and cleaned it with an air compressor the two red lights pop up again just when I press the start button.

  • awesome 5/5

  • Man,i fucking love you!(: your a fucking saint,thanks man,take care(:

  • my xbox has the 2 flashing lights i opened the xbox cleaned all the dust out bought a new fan and it still has 2 red flashing lights WTF?

  • WTF!!! I just tried it & it worked!!!

  • Thanks a lot my xbox is quieter now than before and I have not gotten the red ring,

  • thanks sounds legit 5 stars

  • use compressed air to clean the back

  • Thank you so much... Even if this doesnt work... THANK YOU.

  • How about a vacum cleaner?

  • i went out and bought the jasper chipset arcade and its working fine. I however on my old xbox came across this error and opened it up. I have the newer xbox so the screws go through the chasis and through the motherboard. Anyway, i tightened the screws all the way after doing the paste and the replacements and stuff and it was displaying this. I read if you loosen the screws just a little it would not display the error. So far it is gone for now

  • holy crap!!!!!!

this shit works. i gave up on my 360, but i saw this video n tried it (but i tried with vacuum) and now my 360 works.

lol its been workin for 20 mins now, not sure bout dependebility of it but it works!

thx alot bro, u saved me some bucks :D

  • @huz911 dued did u suck the dust out or blow it out ????

  • i did this with a hair dryer (on cold setting of course) an it didnt work . is this because its not powerfull enough?

  • yh a hair dryer wont be powerful enough
