He uses one mic with distortion, and has the other mic set at normal tones so he still has a solid sound for his rocking chorus. Then, during the verse, he sings in falcetto(head voice) into a mic with certain distortions pre-set. Hope that helps!

the mic is set for distortion, but he is singing in falsetto, there isn't a

"falsetto mic".

Not to corretc you you there, but they don't make extra mics for falsettos. It's just a higher note, all goes through the same thing. The mic that he's using is used to muffle voice, which isn't very well heard in this recording, but if you listen to the single it becomes much more appearant.
