i kept one as a pet for 2 weeks before putting him back. he never bit me and i treated him with utmost respect (considering he was a bug in captivity) i guess it's a rare finding since the most we ever find are wood louses and lady bugs. And they live underground. praying mantises are easier to find than these guys where i used to live in california.
