okay ley me explain something calmly. YOU MUST PROVIDE THE REASON FOR THIS, if you dont tell kids they could die a horrible miserable death by playing near powerlines . .. . then all this song is going to do is produce an enigme, a great burning desire to understand hte power lines . . . . thus a want or maybe even a need to find out what secret is being kept from them!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your not going to believe this, but I submitted the idea of a light bulb with wings to a hydro logo design contest when I was 6. They got my mom to sign a release, gave me a t-shirt (which I thought was a huge score), and then got a professional designer to finalize the concept. I guess that person was Mike Lester.....
The good ole days when kids actually played outdoors! Shows how we did not have the things that kids have these days. I guess you could say that we were bored and saw the very first tree by a powerline and climbed onto it!
LETS BRING BACK OLD TV OLD COMMERICIALS AND EVERYTHING TODAY'S TV IS GETTING DUMBER AND DUMBER EACH DAY LET'S BOYCOTT AND SHOW TV BROADCASTERS WHAT WE THINK POST THIS ON EVERYTHING LET'S BRING BACK OLD TV
Fun fact: Louie the Lightning Bug was created by racist wife-beater Mike Lester, who once claimed (to me) that the holocaust pales in comparison to the stimulus bill of 2009.

Oh my gosh there are singing trees with faces on this? AAAAAHHHHH! sorry I panicked I am scared of trees that sing, talk and have faces ever since those two that I went up to and without warning they sang, I was two when I went up to the tree in mother care and without warning she spoke.
I live in Ohio and I remember in Elementary school when "Louie" came to or school. He was the only mascot that we kids didn't beat up or throw trash at or make fun of. Man I used to love all his song. He broke out the harmonica man the bug had style. Get down Louie, get down!
I can't believe they still show these old commercials though. They're very old and still played. Sometimes, when one of the commercials is on tv the clip just freezes sometimes.
Wow, 20 years after these aired in Newfoundland on Saturday mornings(courtesy of Newfoundland Power), a friend of mine and I STILL know all the words!
I have been looking for this commercial for a LONG TIME! Thanx for posting it. I remember this commercial so vividly. I loved the ending where he ad libs and starts singing "YES YOU'VE GOT TO PLAY IT SAFE, AROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUND" That part is cut out of this video, but he does it at the end. LOL
Louie was AWESOME! One of the all time best PSA spokescreatures ever. The PSA's were fun, energetic and you learned something too! Hard to pull off in 30 seconds but boy they were fantastic!
This is awsome...haven't seen in years. Southern Company began running the spots again in Alabama and as a Southern Nuclear employee I emailed the head of advertising and told her that they should begin running these ad's again..they are so catchy!
He was in South Carolina too...

just search for the LT MAGNET MOTOR in the youtube video search , it is probably the ONLY working magnet
