haven't seen the movie yet but for sure plan on it, im nervous on seeing the movie tho cause if the world does end i don't wanna have even a picture of how it's gonna happen. i'd rather just go boom and invisible lol. 5/5 tho. my mom said it was a great movie to.

So Jimi Mistry is the name of that other scientist. He is very good. He plays one of the characters that I actually liked in this film, along with the character of Helmsley and the family of the Tibetan monks.

I too was among the few who didn't deride the 1998 U.S. "Godzilla".  Though I must admit, the ToHo classics hold up much better under repeated viewings. Woody Harrelson has really been enjoying some stand out roles over these past few years: "No Country For Old Man", "Zombieland" and now this...

In 1998 when Godzilla came out I was 10 so I was loving it lol.

As for good old woody, big it up for Cheers. And then of course his brilliant performance in Will and Grace lol.

Ah, my mate told me it wer 3 hours, didn't do my research. But 150 mins plus the 20 mins advert/trailers makes it a good 2hr 50 mins of sitting on uncomfy seats :-)

I haven't got to see the film yet but I'm excited about seeing it. I don't know how many actual documentaries you've watched on the subject but I've noticed something. There are no actual professionals that are willing to come out and support this theory. The only ones you hear from that say 2012 is definitely going to happen are the ones who stand to make a buck off of getting people worked up over it. There will come a day when the earth will cease to exists but I don't think it's in 2012

Check out "The Great Alignment" You can read about it or you can watch a show called Nostradamus2012 or something to that effect. I'm not going to lie. I'm probably going to be sweating bullets come Dec 21 2012 but I'm sure it's going to be an irrational fear brought on by the media. I've never heard any credible astrophysiscist or astronomer, or sisemologist claim it's going to happen. They more just talk about what the effects would be IF it did happen or were to happen.

The tag line is correct, the world was warned. It's not just the ending of the mayan calendar that marks 2012 as a world changing event. Prophets like Nostradamus and even the bible all point at 2012 as the end of the world. However it should be understood that the term world translated is civilization of man and not planet. Know the facts. Watch my videos. You were warned.

Lol I was watching a video called Zietgiest and i'm sure it says in there the translation for World is something that translates into AGE. And then goes onto comment about horoscopes etc and Jesus is the age of Pisces. Its all very fascinating...I just love stuff like this. I'll try and get round to watching your video v.soon. :-)

Etymology is the science of words, where they come from and how they are made up. Most words are a mixture of other untranslated words. Its from this that the understanding of the word "world" translated from dutch comes (age of men). I liked Zietgiest, but it wasn't 100% right and the Urantia book predates its findings by near 100 years.

The answer to that question depends upon your reasoning of "Job". This is not what I do for money, but it is far more then my hobbie. ;)

Investigating it is fun. The 2012 phenomenon, and end of the world, is the largest puzzle in real life. There are facts that fit a global puzzle throughout time and civilizations. You have to find as many as you can, put them in a box, and shake until they all fall into place.

My arguement is the world surely isn't going to end because scientist could have already predicted what happening, unless its like the film and they leave it all hush hush until it happens....ooooooooooooo. lol.

That is a false understanding you have of scientists. The scientific process is the theory and observation that produces "evidence" assumed to be factual. Scientists have said there was no evidence smoking is bad for you among many other false things. Scientists argue to find facts. Plus, the real trigger for the 2012 phenomenon, the galatic gravitational disk, is part of physic theory but scientists can't study it because men are small and galaxies large.

I find it interesting why people are so obsessed or very interested in disasters or prophetic theory's, perhaps scientists should do a study on it. I dont think i'll be going to watch it because jonathan ross said pretty much the same thing about it, as for the radio guy that makes me think of alex jones in the US maybe he should get a cut for the idea

Also forget to say I get interested in this kind of thing because I think the theorys and stuff are just the equivalent of literacy. Theyve sat down one day and thought I want to write a fiction story, kinda like how I believe the bible was made...sorry if you are religious, but if you ever watched anything of the Zietgiest stuff, makes it so interesting! :-)

I agree it does make a good story and i'm an atheist so no problems with the bible except those who believe it to be the whole truth as a matter of fact i reckon most of the old testament is a load of tosh made up by some guy on a high.

the flood though is just a retelling of ancient Babylon Gilgamesh so alot of it is stolen or rewritten.

I enjoyed the new star trek movie and went to watch that at the cinema and your right its much more of an experience than on a boring TV I'm getting old : (

Gerard says no because Doctor Who is way from the future and Earth is still around, proof enough for me. The Mayan Calendar is just suppose to restart on 12/21/2012. sorry I'm not a pessimist. Loved the movie, though I was sad that Sasha & Tamara died. The cliffhangers that Cusack & his family had to go through over & over again were almost annoying, if it weren't for the spectaular F/X that the movie had. My "bum" wasn't the problem but I suggest not drinking soda while watching it!
