  • this movie is so cute!

  • Great video! I Haven`t seen Brad Gorton since his London Burning days. And this 1975 megahit by Nazareth is heartfelt and sincere in its simplicity. But I think I prefer the original, or Rod Stewart`s version to this one. Cher has many great songs - but this one doesn`t really suit her voice, as I see it. Both Nazareth and Stewart bring more feeling to the song, making the hurt part more believeable. But the video did, along with the joy, warmth, worries, fear and the rest that comes with love.

  • @Dolphininseaable Thanks my friend. I only know Brad Gorton from "Get Real" Pitty because is a really beautiful guy and talented actor. My intention was to use Rod Stewart's version because it's my favourite but Rod isn't so friendly as Cher and he doesn't allow to post his songs on youtube. At least not in fanvids, every time I tried to they mute the vid or received a warning from the "web sheriff" Lame for old rock stars! On the other hand, Nazareth's sound a little too old for two young guys

  • @JJTheTrue Haven`t seen Gorton since the series I mentioned either. He is sort of off the radar at the moment. Pity. And pity Stewart is so restricted with fan vids - I had sort of toyed with the idea of using Young Turks, but in the scrap book with that now. Just finished my 3rd vid. This one I tried as an experiment, because of the title of the Kylie song. I`ll go back and see in a couple of months what work and what doesn`t, and how to do that type of things in the future. Too fresh for now.

  • Love really hurts.

Nice showcasing of this movie, my friend.

    I cherished my memories.

    Its so wonderful.

    No pain,no gain.

    And sharing is caring.

    Take care dear friend.

  • Thank you dear JJTheTrue again! :) I've watched this film today and it was wonderful... I love it, thank you for your video, thanks to it! The film is about the idea of coming out, so hard it to do to teenager, how hard it to come out to friends, parents and for yourself. It's about the guy, who looks like a weak, but in the end of the film we see, that he is stronger, than John "Supermen" Dickson... Steve is stronger. That's very important movie for teens and for their parents.

  • And I`m again happy after your video, JJTheTrue! I love it absolutely and I think, that gay people must to come out, because if they`ll not do it, they`ll be hide all they life... I think, that gay man must be proud of who he/she is, because gay love is beautiful, real and perfect! Coming out people! :)

Thank you again for the wonderful video, now I want to watch this film :)

  • @IslandofInspiration Thanks so much hon. Love to read you again. I'm also totally for being out, proud and free. I'm myself from a very very long time... but sadly, not everybody has the same opportunities to take the step because they live on homophobic villages, cities and countries. Even in 2010, gay teens still suiciding themselves because of homophobia in the US. Shameful!!!

  • @JJTheTrue , totaly agree with you too! That`s the shame for USA and for all countries.... But gay people must fight an not hide! It`s the general idea... And this film "Get Real" too for opened gays and I support this idea, because it`s humanic and only right for gay people. Thank you again for your videos and for your words, hope to see you soon here with a new wonderful video, dear! :)

  • hey bud....im bi nd im proud to be....i hav seena couple of gay movies nd hav tears in my eyes whenever i watch...lov has no boundries nd every1 needs to understand it....anywayz i dnt want to get emotional nd hey jus mention ur top ten gay movies so dat i can download dem n watch...peace 2 all...thnks for vid..:)

  • @micheshawn Hi buddy. Totally agree, love musn't have any boundaries at all. I wish that much more people think that way. I can tell you 10 good films but remember that it's only my opinion. You must judge by yourself. 1=Maurice 2=Latter Days 3=A Single Man 4=Lilies 5=Watercolors 6=Dream Boy 7=Torch Song Trilogy 8=Do Começo Ao Fim (From beginning to end) 9=The War Boys 10=Milk. These ones are amongst my very faves, but there are a lot more, like "Torch song Trilogy" Hope that helps you. x

  • @JJTheTrue thnx a lot bro....:)

  • Ohh this movie <3 It´s very true to it´s title, there is no "make belive" or happy ending just because thats what the audience whant´s. It´s so uncompromising - It´s just REAL. I love this movie!

  • @buneojne That's one of the things who made the film so special and believable.

  • love this movie it's forever an all time favorite

  • @brazilian99 Thanks. Love it too. :))

  • This is a great movie and is in my top 10......... nice take jj

  • @McDundee100 Thanks buddy! It's on my top 10 too. Love it!!

  • Yesterday I've seen this movie and today I see the clip from it made by you :) Coincidence? ;P Really great clip :)

  • @solmyrek19 That's an unbelievable coincidence, my friend. I just re-watched a few days ago and decided to make a clip about it. Thanks a lot! xx

  • Love Cher! ;) peace

  • @WonderfulLeonard Love her too. What a dream to watch her giving Lady Gaga the most important of their won VMA's!!

  • I haven't seen this movie yet and after reading the comments I am kinda happy it doesnt have a happy ending because like others have said it makes it more realistic..sadly sometimes in life things dont always end with a "Happily Ever After" . I should know, lol.

  • @lovelynfunni28 I agree, there are too much films who portray this subject in a false way. Get Real honors its title and take the bull by the horns. Great final message too. Don't miss it.

  • I watched this film quite recently and was totally captivated by it!! I'm a 'happy ending' freak , so I wanted Brad to take a stand and publicly accept who he was, but, alas , this was not to be!! However, Ben's speech brought me to tears...his bravery was inspiring and that final scene, where he drove off with his best friend, was very real. You have to accept yourself before you can expect others to do so!!

    Big sparkly love, JJ xx

  • @2304sarah1 Thanks a lot my love! I totally agree with you, I felt in love with this film the minute I watched it. And the final scene with his girfriend and Aretha's singing... freedom... freedom was PRICELESS!! we all must be real in front of the world! Sparkly hugs and kisses... xxx

  • Love hurts, when the beloved rejects you. This movie was painful & uplifting. In the end I felt sorry for the jock who was both gay & homophobic. We knew what a miserable life he would have & what a wonderful young man he was rejecting, while that young man would in time find a lover who, like him, embraced REALITY. I know you choose the music first & then the film. Love Hurts & Get REAL were a match to bring on the tears fast. I guess that's a good thing. Gracias, amigo mio. I need a towel now.

  • @alwaysuseless I agree, I felt sorry for him too, but sadly, in the real world there are a lot of guys like him, willing to hide its feelings behind a mask and get a miserable life having a wife and children that they never wanted in the first place. I think that the movie shows perfectly the two ways of growing up as a gay man, the brave one and the most coward approach. I would like to think that the 1st prevails but I'm afraid that isn't the case. Gracias a tí, amigo. Besos y abrazos.

  • at first sight one would dismiss the jock/nerd love affair as a contrived rehash of past cinematic plots - but it couldn't be further from the truth. it's their relationship that makes this film believable and refreshingly original. my favorite scene - the school dance when they gaze across the room and into each other's eyes as if it were they who were in each other's arms. thanks JJ - i'm definitely going to have to watch this one again and revisit some old friends :-)

  • @doughboy1547 Thanks so much Joseph! I love that jock/nerd love affair, and Ben and Brad play the parts perfectly. I always considered this film one of the most honest and more believable gay coming out stories. Love the ball scene too, but my fave in this film is the speech of Ben to all the father and teachers. Priceless!

Thanks to you again my friend, it seems that your comment would be the only one in this case. xxx

  • @JJTheTrue ah yes the speech - one of the most painful scenes in the movie for me. not so much because of ben's emotional release - but of brad's unwillingness to accept love over social convention. i kept waiting for him to rush the stage and throw his arms around ben with a kiss that would have sent the silent room into shocking gasps and supportive applause. but then - that would have made it a completely different movie - and made it ring less true.

  • @doughboy1547 I was (or better said I wished) exactly the same that you were, but english cinema uses to be quite realistic about those kind of situations. Nothing comparable to the awful "In and Out" I was in pain too, but also admiring Ben for being so brave, specially when he says more or less... "You don't know the damage you're doing to your children taking their sexuality for granted" I agree so much with that! Love my sweet brave nerdy much more than the cowardly jock!

  • @doughboy1547 Joseph, you always get here before I do. How do you do that? :-)
