  • Found a few War relics myself, found a 20mm bullet in my local playing field which is just across to road basically and was all intact still, no idea how it got there mind you, at an old WW2 airfield I found a harness release (They flew Westland Lysanders from here and there were a few crashes and I think this could of been from the crash site) and the usual Home Guard items from some near by fields like grenade parts and .303 shells.

  • your switch is a bf 109 g4 release bomb switch from the battle of britain

  • i wish you could do this in america

  • @staffsmole

Of course. I never search a site without first obtaining the land owners permission.

  • @ww2relichunter

    Thankyou....!

I was just a bit worried, that's all.

    Great video.

    cheers,

  • i dream of this stuff im 11 and my grandpa passed away a while back and he was in ww2 i loved ww2 since i was like 7 or 8 and want to do this stuff so bad!

  • @popsnacks2 That's awesome. Good hunting mate !

  • Hey Popsnacks I remember when I was your age and I always was into Military history, my grandfather also passed away some years later and he was also in ww2. I am now 20 and I still am very interested in ww2 history... although I dont play with my GI Joes anymore. I have gone on an archaeology dig. Follow your dreams.

  • @Ideal9 wow thanks man! already got my bounty hunter tracker 4 and am already digging up and practicing the art of metal detecting. many of these videos inspired my new hobby! cant wait till i can go big and relic hunting!

  • i found a few war relics from old camps, i dont like digging rusty old cartridge shells though, i wouldnt spend 30 seconds digging em let alone 30 mins, nice work though

  • Very good vids! I'm metal detecting over 30 years myself and have some lovely finds, I really enjoy digging up old war relics like yourself, When you think of all the pleasure/exercise/history/metalurgy/fresh air etc you learn/get from this hobby not to mention the detector pays for itself in coins etc in no time or if your very lucky one find like me on several ocassions! Fantastic hobby! Thanks again for the vids and good luck.

  • great haul. i purchased a detector last week as i live on what use to be an RAF base in Lincoln. gave it an hour this morning and found several objects including shells. happy hunting

  • Nice work.

I have metal detected several old airfields, and have uncovered much the same a you. The results are available to see on the website Disused Airfields of Yorkshire and the East Midlands.

The trouble is, for the last two years every land owner I have written to, asking for permission to detect on their disused airfield have said no. Even when I offer to pay!! I'll keep trying. Keep up the great work.
