  • Just like super smash bros brawl. nintendo didn't just put mario characters in there. they have a good amount of characters besides mario's.

  • he didnt really say STOP making sonic games but i DO agree they need a break

  • Madworld was sweet. Empire: Total War was pretty good. Bayonetta looks like a good game.

  • They need to fix him and push him a side and make a game for him a few years. Like they do for mario. Or kill him off.

Either way I agree with you.

  • They do make other things beside Sonic.

  • there's not that much Sonic games.

  • Oh you know how people will blow crap out of proportion when they see too much of one thing and too little of another.

  • Sonic is Sega's only profitable franchise.

Nintendo does more than Mario games because their other endeavors are healthy and make just as much if not more than the usual Mario game. Nintendo has Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, Wii Sports, the list goes on.

Sega has no such alternatives on the level of popularity of Sonic. Sega has tried several times to establish new popular IP's and they have failed each and every time. Shenmue among them. No one bought them, thus why no more are made.

  • And to drive this point further. Read the "You failed SEGA" article on IGN. WE are part of the problem. Sega has more than offered alternatives to Sonic, and they still do. But we just cast them aside, and now we have the nerve to complain that there's too much Sonic.

  • I see where your coming from..but there are other franchise's in sega that are profitable..like NIGHTS and House of the Dead, Pantasy Star, Virtual Fighter and so on..all im saying is that there a million other francises they can work on and turn into a profit besides sonic

  • The problem is Nintendo's franchises are all profitable. Sega's are not. Sonic is the one franchise that Sega makes plenty of profits on. Any time Sega has released a new franchise or tried focusing on different older ones, they didn't bring in much in the ways of profits.
