@KAINFGIRL A l'epoque du regime de dictateur Mobutu, il y avait beaucoup de traffic d'influences au sein du regime. Et Franco avait des ennemis au sein du meme regime. Ces ennemis propageaient des "fausses" nouvelles que Franco avait fait tuer les politicians zairois qui vivaient en Europe et qu'il traffiquait du chanvre en Europe. Donc ces gens voulaient que Franco soit arrete. C'est un peu cela.

This record is sheer genus. It was because of this type of Congolese music that I had to learn Lingala. To learn Lingala I borrowed a Lingala bible from someone and then using the English bible of my Luo languaga bible I was soon able to string up sentences. Later i bought a book called Yekola Lingala it was published by the OAU Bureau of languages. The book was writen in Lingala with English translations. Thats how I who comes from Northern Uganda learnt Lingala. Lingala na ngai ekoka.

The problem is rumours and gossips are social phenomenons that are unpleasant when untrue , the consequencies could be quite serious at time ... and Franco was telling his own story trying to educate the masses once one .

Franco became one of the richest musicians because of his talent not because of the rumors. The issue here is he was a social commentator and as such if u listen to the song he is grateful of his people but he knows when things get out of hand they need to be addressed. U can put a man like this in any country and he will rise to the top. Why?. Look at the guitar solo no one not even Santana, BB or Clapton can do that.

Rumors and gossip was a theme that ran through several Franco compositions: "Les Rumeurs," "Radio Troittoir," "Tu Vois? (Mamou)." This performance was in 1982. He died in October 1989 at which time he was very thin. The cover photo on the Mangwana-Franco lp "For Ever" shows the gravely ill, almost unrecognizeable Franco.
