Well on my mac I play AVI files in quicktime, or VLC. Heck I even play WMV files in Quicktime. As for torrents, I download mov's with Transmission, no problem. A Specs Debate will be endless, just look for yourself and compare the components in a top specd macbook pro vs a HP/Toshiba etc & compare price. About the same! Infact the Apple is possibly cheaper & remember Apples depreciate slower than PC's, Plus I get a stunning Aluminum casing and the top HP for instance is still plastic rubbish!

When you are dealing with a monopoly and the hold they have over the minds of the public. Simply telling the positives will not work. People assume that you will talk positively about your product and it has proven it is not enough to make them switch. People tune that out. But using humor to put a face on MS and the problems that most people have with Windows and PC will certainly get their attention and it has. You might not like the ads but they have been VERY successful and have worked.
The reason they work is that there is truth in what they are saying and they are totally relatable so they strike a nerve with people. Everyone knows what kind of company MS is so Apple having the balls to tell it like it is and make fun of them? That is a MUCH better attention getter than simply boasting about your own product. Fact is Apple is the ONLY company in the PC business that is not under MS's heavy handed oppression and control who CAN actually speak the truth.
PC owns I can play my games, I can do graphic design, I can make cool videos, I can get tons of music, and I can use more than just 1 OS and it will work just fine with no glitches. I think I like PC just fine. With mac I can, go on the internet at snail speeds, and.....thats it.

PC owns I can play my games, I can do graphic design, I can make cool videos, I can get tons of music, and I can use more than just 1 OS and it will work just fine with no glitches. I think I like PC just fine. With mac I can, go on the internet at snail speeds, and.....thats it.

The Mac mini is not going to be supporting my games, OS or not. Macs are glitchy as hell if you are running quad-core CPUs and SLi with bootcamp.

Honestly, what is the problem? Nobody wants everything to be the same. A windows world only, would be like Lada only in russia.
Because there have been surviving competitors, despite the mob like business deals from microsoft, competition has been beneficial to all of them. Without competition development stops. And windows would probably still be a operating system for engineers.
Some drive BMW's some drive Volvos, in my world that is a good thing.

A PC is alot cheaper than a Mac. Which is good, but Macs are always better. Macs are good for designing, and music etc. top of the line stuff....

My CPU's
iMac-osX: Works great for Photoshop it looks great and is fairly easy to use, Though it feels a little limited. 160g hd 2g ram 2.81ghz processor = 2100$
Built-Vista64bit: No problems or bugs, Tight security easily maintained (windows defender). Record live tv, nice display for all music (windows media center). Your only limits are your knowledge. 4g ram 650g hd. AMD phenom 64 (triple core) 1,100 dollars.
Both are great but in different ways. Pc is way cheaper then mac.

Bah, got mac here.... Got a virus one day, but since it was going to modify system files to fuck up the mac. The OS asked for my password to make the modifications... I just clicked cancel and went deleting that one file that was causing it...
Same thing in VISTA, but there you get so many screens with black background where you click continue on that even if a virus goes doing stuff and you get that screen. Its like a fucking Pavlov dog, you immediately go clicking on Continue

apple has the cheapest professional DAW on the planet with the routing system that leaves everything but protools in the dark. for 500bucks you get it with 8dvd's of royalty free samples, whilst cubase costs 1 grand and you get nothing.

whatever. macs dont get viruses, can go faster with the same hardware, and are are cheaper to maintain. if you want cheap, but a crap pc that will last a year. if you want a value for money machine, get the mac, with the great suite of ilife application, faster, safer networking, and an overall boost in performance.
