WOOOOOOOOWW!!!!!!!!!!!! that is like in 2006 walking from my friends house in the rain rite next door and this large pine twice the size of any otherone in the neighborhood got struck straight down i ran inside like a wild monkey escaping from the zoo it was really LOUD.

This happend in May and then died around july then cut down in early september (It made a big mess).

A couple of years ago a tree in at my Grandparents house got struck by lighting too. Only it caused the tree to explode and the flying shrapnel broke several of their windows.

I am dubious it hit the tree directly. When lightning strikes trees, it causes major damage - sometimes fire, sometimes loss of branches, sometimes bark being blown off, sometimes even the tree exploding due to its sap boiling - and this tree has no visible damage.

There was a taller tree on my street in Dayton, OH and it got struck by lightning around 5AM on August 4, 2009. The thunder sounded like a rat-tat-tat-tat. The fire department was there later that morning.
