  • BRINGS BACK MEMORIES, I WAS AT THE PROVIDENCE SHOW, NICE TO HEAR IT AGAIN, AND NICE TO SEE THE VIDEO FROM THE SHOW YOU WERE AT. THANKS

  • God I wish I'd seen them in the mid-70s! I saw the TAAB tour, then missed out till 1978. 72-76 were their best years on record and live from what I've seen.

  • seen this show in madison square garden that year, great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Should be locked in a vault, in a museum somewhere safe near the arctic circle, safe for future generations....

  • Thanks whoever you are. I saw this very tour, about two months earlier, in HersheyPark Arena, Pennsylvania. They kicked royal English band butt !!

The back up band was Carmen and Tull stole that band's bass player, who later died in the late 1970s. John Glascock... I think I have my facts straight on this. Anyway, I saw Tull about 12 or 13 times and...WOW... To the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ... please pucker your lips and kiss Ian's ass and mine, simultaneously

  • Wow.Best footage i've seen from the Warchild Tour bar none.Even a glimpse a few times of the string section,Ian playing sax on Warchild,Jeffrey's stand up Zebra Bass,Mrs Anderson giving Ian his jacket.Excellent .Saw Tull on this tour at MSG.Landmark concert.Tull definitely at their top form. Thanks for uploading.

  • Awesome Darin...thanks for sharing..Charlie

  • Was there... Thanks so much. Great memories of a fantastic band both live and on record.

  • I went to that concert and it was awesome Allthough the cam taped to the thigh was not the best. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for those memories Any one that that was not there at that time would never understand just how great Tull was. Thanks again for those memories.

  • AWESOME THANKS!!

  • I was here for this very concert at the Fabulous Forum my 14th birthday gift. A fan since 11 and have seen Tull no less than 25 times. Thank you so much for posting this. Long live Ian Anderson, Martin Barre Jeffrey Hammond Hammond, John Evans and all members over the years .... Cheers.

  • Thanks for sharing those unforgettable moments. To me the 1973-74-75

performances are the best on tull carrer.Just waiting more material to

    enjoy it ! THANKS.

  • same show 3 month later in Zurich, Switzerland. Thank you for your film and Dorothea's thigh. Crazy Bass player with his crazy black/white costume and flash lights during the show. I remember as yesterday.

  • The short bit at 0:19 is from the Prog middle part of Minstrel. Did they play that on the War Child tour?

  • wow I was at this 1... if u look close there is a stage behind the drum kit

about 12 ft maybe...he went up it put out a cig and jumped off...

    what a f-in showman!!!!!!!!!

luv the bombs going off during warchild

  • all I could say is ... WOW... kudos from Niagara Falls NY where Ian and

crew stopped a few times ... Tull is TiTs !!!

  • It gives me the heebie-jeebies - Thanks for your great job...!!

  • I was there, Too! I was just 14 and it still stands today as one of the greatest shows in my life. I remember thinking Martin Barre in that outfit was the coolest thing in the known universe. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • WOW...thanks. I attended their Madison Square Garden show on 3/7/75 - we were immediately mesmerized as Ian descended the stage singing Wind Up like a cross between Merlin & Errol Flynn (after the female faux-conductor mooned the audience). I literally felt like I fell through the rabbit hole. After the show, half the crowd were equally affected as we descended the subway ackwardly mimicking Ian's sweeping Shakespearian theatrical springs. 12 subsequent Tull concerts and I'm still inspired...

  • I was at THIS actual concert and also shot super 8mm film. How funny is that. It was a great show. I just recently found the concert program from this night and the War Child tour. It is in perfect condition. Now i need to go to my folks house and look for the film so i can transfer it and post it, although mine was silent. I didn't have the money for a sound 8mm camera back then !!! Ha Ha

  • This footage was silent also, until I dubbed in and synced the sound. Let me know if I can help you with that. ;-)

  • Thank you my friend for you offer. I have to find the film first !!! You did an excellent job syncing this to sound. I also have film of Genesis doing the Lamb at the Shrine the same year, 1975. That, (the Lamb show), to this day was the single best concert in history as far as I'm concerned.

  • Good lord.... SEALION on film????

I hope everyone realizes just how RARE that is.

    The song WARCHILD on film???

    I must be dreaming.

  • Unbelievable great show! Thanks a lot for this great footage!

  • Thanks! War Child was my 1st Tull concert, I remember this like it was yesterday. Anything you can put up from that era is massively appreciated.

When he slipped into the short coat he said: "Excuse while slipping in to my silly coat; looks like a reject from a David Bowie concert... no, no, there's a lot to be said about that lad Bowie, he as a lot up here [points at head] - But as you can see, I have a lot down here! [Points at his codpiece]" lol - 35 years ago.

  • Unbelievable. I was there on one of the 7 or 8 nights they played. This was the second time I saw Tull show, but the first when I had a freak on for them and knew their music. I will never forget this night. I remember feeling a manic-like high during the entire show. My buddies and I went out for pie afterwards and we were all in a daze and had no voices left. This is the best and most treasured video I have yet seen of Tull at there absolute peak. Great job!

  • Unbelievable... this is the holy grail of Tull footage for me because... I was there that night at the House That Jack Built too! This was the first time I saw them... but it wouldn't be the last. Next week I'll be seeing IA solo in Seattle... for the 39th time! .... thanks for the great work.... it's ♠Tull icious!

  • The word is "lush". Very "lush"!!! Thanks again! - Jeff

  • I had to look again.

Just so amazing on the picture quality.

It looks like its filmed with a new digital camera.

    Once again, Excellent job here!

You should do this to all of your 8mm stuff, sync it, and upload it.

    Thanks again! Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Thank You. I projected this onto a white Illustration board and shot it with a 3 year old "prosumer" 3CCD Sony S Digital Camera that does really well in low light. The Sony z1u HD camera needs alot of light and doesn't capture a lot of the soft halftones. I ran the projector at very slow motion and sped it up in the computer. Thats why you see some flicker.Scanned film comes back Friday. Thanks again and keep up the hard work, I see your being featured on booTULLegs!

  • Saw them that same week in FresNo!

My first time. There were rafters behind the group, I recall Ian leaping them.

    BTW.

Do you still have the tape

    from Dorotheas' thigh???

    (my inner Aqualung, just asking)

  • ZOWIE!!!!

    THANK YOU DARIN.

This looks sooooo much better than the previous versions of this footage. You did an amazing job.

I wish more people who took film of Tull back in the 1972-1976 period would restore their footage the way you're doing it.

    (Rochester 1972, Oakland 1973, Spain 1974, NYC 1975, Spain 1976, etc.)

    Where are you people?

  • Darin, it's beautiful! Congratulations on another vintage Tull masterpiece! And oh yeah thanks for the package! I bin jammin to 1975 since any other time in the last 34 years thanks to you!

  • Great Work the color is really smooth and sharp and more detailed around the edges at points..Thanks.. The 73 may turn out really nice.

All original film holders should bring this stuff back to life again..

  • The difference in the picture is amazing. It looks like it could have been filmed yesterday. Having the original film makes such a difference. If we could make all the 8mm stuff look like this and Hanson913's we could really create something special.

  • Great to see the, albeit brief, Warchild stuff. That's my fav album.

Is the woman in red Shona? The timing would line up.

  • WOOOW!

Looks ten times better, how did you do that, Darin?

    EX Job, by the way!!

     Nick
