If sexuality is something that can be so easily learned or changed as some say, there would be virtually no homosexuals because we live in a predominantly heterosexual world and most of us come from heterosexual families. Now whether Mr. McClurkin is straight/bi/gay/gay but choosing not to act on his feelings, I don't know, but his "crusade" against homosexuality needs to stop. And before anyone says it, thank you already for the prayers and I am very comfortable with my relationship with God.
Sexuality is not a choice. I have asked many heterosexuals when they chose to be straight and they look at me like I'm crazy, because it's a silly question. So why people think that being gay is a choice is beyond me. Now maybe Mr. McClurkins sexuality/sexual identity was shaped by his abuse as a child but for most gay people that isn't the case. I was not abused, my parents, grandparents, etc. are still married, I was raised in the church and still I am gay.
I see ppl talking bout accepting who u r is a Gud this which it is but not the way u guys r putting it. A lot of our youth killing themselves cuz they don't feel accepted and not happy with themselves cuz of their homosexual feelings so we try to solve the problem by telling them it's ok to be that way and u gotta love you for you n others will c that n love u but that's wrong. To truly accept who u r is to accept Wat God has called u to be. Don't accept being gay cuz that's what Satan wants. I
I don't see why all of these homosexuals so hostile when the man is also admitting his faults as well. His telling the truth and his doing it in a spirit of correction! God had his way and perform his duty as in to saving && - delivering and anything that fights against the labor of Christ is truly reprobated in their minds.
What HORRIBLE Man! Taking out his pain of being molested on everyone else! Just because he was hurt doesn't give him a right to hurt everyone else with his religion. I believe there is truth to what Donnie is saying. When we study the Bible, and we study what it has to say about the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, it shows us that it is possible to be freed from homosexuality. But it can only be done by the power of God, not in our own strength. The reason people think you can't be freed from it is because they try to get free in their own strength, and can't. The fact that Donnie talks about his homosexuality and being "delivered" from it is indicative of what continues to exist in the black church - using the deliverance comment as a means to thwart off rumors of his true nature. There are so many men (I will only speak of men here) that are gay in the black and southern gospel world. This is something I know of first hand having been around many of them for years. It's a small fraternity and they all know each other and their secrets of secrets.
If the story is true that Donnie was raped by members of his family, then the full extent of the law should be carried out on the ones who violated him as a young boy. If sexuality is something that can be so easily learned or changed as some say, there would be virtually no homosexuals because we live in a predominantly heterosexual world and most of us come from heterosexual families. Now whether Mr. McClurkin is straight/bi/gay/gay but choosing not to act on his feelings, I don't know, but his "crusade" against homosexuality needs to stop. Sexuality is not a choice. I have asked many heterosexuals when they chose to be straight and they look at me like I'm crazy, because it's a silly question. So why people think that being gay is a choice is beyond me. Now maybe Mr. McClurkins sexuality/sexual identity was shaped by his abuse as a child but for most gay people that isn't the case. I was not abused, my parents, grandparents, etc. are still married, I was raised in the church and still I am gay.

You have a right to live your life as you do, but you have NO right to tell others that your way is right and that their's is wrong.
And yes ML77, I am well versed in the bible. I also am aware that many bible -thumpers use scripture to support their own prejudices.

Human sexuality doesn't work like that. You are what you are. You can pretend to be whatever you like. That's called being on the DL.

@musiclover77able YES I DO!!! Some of us are gay, and some of us are not. Straight people don't choose to be straight and gay people don't choose to be gay. I seriously doubt that in this prejudice, hate- filled society, that somebody would CHOOSE to be the object of hate and prejudices.

Therefore, God's design is greater than we are able to comprehend. Since the dawn of time, homosexuality has existed...they just didn't know how to label it correctly back in biblical days and certainly lacked the understanding that two people of the same sex could share a life of love and respect with each other.
Unfortunately, many continue to pontificate on the subject and only show their ignorance on the subject.

But, since you asked, I feel you could broaden your understanding somewhat better of God's creation and realize that in virtually every species there exists a percentage of homosexuality, including the human race. If you believe in the supreme nature of God then you must believe that God doesn't err in his process.

I believe there is truth to what Donnie is saying. When we study the Bible, and we study what it has to say about the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, it shows us that it is possible to be freed from homosexuality. But it can only be done by the power of God, not in our own strength. The reason people think you can't be freed from it is because they try to get free in their own strength, and can't. But it is possible with God, as all things are. God bless.

The fact that Donnie talks about his homosexuality and being "delivered" from it is indicative of what continues to exist in the black church - using the deliverance comment as a means to thwart off rumors of his true nature. There are so many men (I will only speak of men here) that are gay in the black and southern gospel world. This is something I know of first hand having been around many of them for years. It's a small fraternity and they all know each other and their secrets of secrets.

If the story is true that Donnie was raped by members of his family, then the full extent of the law should be carried out on the ones who violated him as a young boy. There is nothing more horrifying than what he supposedly went through, that of incest, and it takes courage to speak of th evil. But, to use his testimony as a tool to scare young boys and girls into fearing, living faithful and authentic lives of who God created them to be, is equally wrong.

First, starting with the woman who was going in and out of "glossolalia." She was a steaming hot mess. Anyone who has been around (and in my case, grown up around) "old timers" know what speaking in tongues is about. I can spot a faux speaker virtually immediately. There is a holiness about glossolalia which is accompanied by the spirit and when its real, it's not like switching on and off a toggle switch.

@MrCogicson1 And I say God is real. He is an individual who as King of Kings has a standard that he expects all things under his purview to adhere to. And.. he has communicated that standard to man via the Bible. Believing as I do it is logical to also believe in angels, demons and other dimensions that these beings populate, some of whom are antagonistic against God's Kingdom and his children. What you believe is up to you, but in the end, God will judge between our beliefs.

@pootn You so-called Christians make the bible say anything you want it to say. Evrey group interprets the bible to suit their own beliefs. When one church teaches something that folks don't agree with they "split" and have a new leader. That's why there are so many denominations out there. You "Christians" can't get it together, so how are you hypocrites going to tell others how to live their lives?

@MrIcetreyman, @MrIcetreyman, It's not the job of Christians to tell people how to live in the sense that you seem to be implying. That's what the Bible is for which is what Christians are to govern their lives by. If your not a Christian, does it really matter to you? If so, I'm not quite sure why. You're free to move about as you see fit and answer to what ever God you serve of not. Why concern yourself with the beliefs of Christians? Are they not free to have their beliefs as you have yours?

@dknows2 I never meant to imply that Christian, Moslems, Jews ,Atheist or anyone else doesn't have a right to their beliefs or opinions. The problem I have is when their beliefs inflict harm or hurt on others. In the case of Donnie, who is chastising youth for being true to themselves. He himself is one of the biggest homosexuals out there, and has the nerve to tell others how to live. The ultimate hypocrite!

whats so hard to understand that sin is sin. No matter what sin it is. God loves the sinner but hates the sin. We all have areas we have to be delivered from. You may be an alcoholic. You may cheat on your spouse sleepning with married people(commit adultry), fornicate have sex out of marriage or before marriage. You may be a liar. You may be a thief. Are you may be gay. All these things are sins and things that you need to be delivered from. Now you may be comfortable in your sin Get Delivered

Yes i see ppl don't understand that in God's eyes there is no sin greater than the other...only "man" will say yes you can recover from being a drug addict or drunken but no once gay always gay...........and im pretty sure alot of "church" ppl are thinking this but not I......ppl can be delivered from ANYTHING b/c our God is just that GREAT!!!
