Just found this commercial. brings back memories. The first 5 cars I owned were firebird convertibles. First a 67 maybe a 326 high output. next a 68(least favorite). Then 3 69s, 1 350 and the other 2 were the overhead cam 6- slow with a bad engine, but they looked great!!! All went to the junkyard when I was finished with them. Oh well, just remembering old times and my favorite car
I saw your car on EBay I've always wanted a 69 Firebird esp. in that blue color. I grew up w/ muscle cars my dad (who passed away 3yrs. ago) bought one similar when I was a little girl and loved it. I still remember that day , ever since I've been fascinated. Its my dream to buy a restored one and i just want to say you've done an awesome job!!
Actually, the spokesman in this commercial is Paul Richards. He was the television face and voice of Pontiac for several years beginning in the mid-1960's. A fine actor who passed away in 1974, Richards is probably best remembered today for portraying Mendez, the mutant priest in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes".
The advertising of this era cracks me up! It's like he's scolding you. "Buy this Pontiac, you pantywaist, before everyone sees you for the pathetic loser you really are, mister losing loser face" And then he tries to intimidate you with that 1960's "I'm gonna kick your ass if you don't buy this car" glare.
these commercials make me feel bad about my 91 formula, but i won't stop loving it, and even before i got it i've got my mind set on a black 1978 TA with a golded bird on the hood and a 455 under it ;)
Great ad. product, spokesman .images and music... cool...sophisticated...

That's cowboy star Paul Richards narrating. Poor guy died at age 50 from cancer. He was on Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, and Hawaii Five-0.

My first car was a '69 Firebird 400 convertible. Good car but not as nice as my '69 Camaro SS/RS convertible. That was a great looking car.

I stand corrected. I think I mis-read some credits on an old show. I remember the commercials and I remember he died young. Thanks.

The actor is Lance Fuller. He appeared in several Pontiac commercials and narrated off-camera too. Sold a lot of cars.

TAs first year is 69 not 67. only 689 made out of 88,000 firebirds.
