This theme song has the same effect on me as the Theme from Somewhere in Time. And it gets even sadder when I remember Bill Bixby and Christopher Reeve are both dead.
thanks to everyone who commented on this video. i felt the need to post it because it expressed just how i felt at a certain point of my life, and now, it made me realize just how universal this feeling really is.
as for the films, i did find a small nod to the tv show on the second one. it's only a couple seconds, when bruce (norton) is in mexico, sitting on the street, head hanging low with hopelessness, you can hear harnell's theme song "lonely man" on the background playing softly.
I feel Edward Norton did a fine job, but he's no Bill Bixby. I also feel that they needed more morality in this last film release and more "Lonely Man" and some hitchhiking. I kept looking for the nods to the TV show throughout the film. In my opinion, there was not enough dialog to construct it.
Bill Bixby is the man, that's true, there's only one David Banner. Much kudos to Edward Norton to follow the archetype and make his own trial. Still, he needs to look back at the landmark of Bix
I totally agree with you!! I never once liked any of the new HULK movies....But I was a big fan of late Bill Bixby and his brillant work with the Incredible Hulk!!!
I saw on season 2 of the Hulk DVD that the show was based of "Les Miserables" with the guilty one redeems his past as the investigator tries to pin him down.
Bill Bixby's characters all seem that they were altrustic and wanted to help people. I'm a born-again Christian and Bix's is a role model for me for that kinda altruism in my faith and sticking up for what's write and all that. Textbox too short!
Thanks for agreein', brother. I just got the soundtrack of the original show, it's awesome!
I've watched almost every episode of the Hulk back in 1983 when I was four years old and now that I'm 29 I look back and will always remember how Bill brought a more intense edge to his acting. But can you imagine that Bixby's private life was at odds. His son Christopher died at six,and his father died when he was 12,and his wife committed suicide, and to make things worse he was diagonsed with cancer then died in 1993..He was close to Judaism of which he had an amazing knowledge!
You should see what was cut out of the movie on the DVD. The studio totally *&%$ed up the Norton movie; it would have been a lot better than it was, not great but at least a little better.
The Hulk films were missing the hitchhiking scene at the end! The scene in this video yields more emotion with its simple expression compared to Bana's small showdown in South America and to Norton's smile accompanied with a quick countdown.
Norton did a terrible job, as did the directors. I remember the Hulk tv series and it was anger that drove the the Hulk, but he always did some act of kindness or help with his powers. In the movie I saw the Hulk using two halves of a car as boxing gloves to smash a monster to death. Now where the hell is the moral of the story there? Just more BS Hollywood glamor and violence. Bill Bixby is the ONLY David Bruce Banner! RIP B.B.

Reminds me a little of Sitgreaves Pass. If ever there was a place one can be alone and work out their true feelings, that would be it.

I've thought of this tune every time I've walked along Marine Drive in Scarborough on Christmas Day.

I'm almost in tears listening to this song. It just strikes me in the heart. When I hear this, I literally feel the sorrow and loneliness.

God, how I loved that tv show as a kid...
I was always into fantasy and science fiction, even as a youngster.
But this..... This was always the one I loved the most....
And especially that ending song...
Brings back so many memorys.

sure Eric Bana was good and so was Norton but no1 well ever be Bruce banner like Bixby was

Look at the amount of time bixby had to shape banner into what he wanted. Then look at the two hours norton had. I think norton did a damn fine job.

The composer stole a theme from the Rocky Horror Picture Show... not hard to create good music when you don't actually create it...
