I am writing a paper on this scene and just realized that the dvd I got from netflix is broken...I am SO GLAD that this is here...

In the first scene, these women are supposed to be making themselves look westernized, for the first time in their lives. So it's ironic that, in reality, they're already wearing makeup and have plucked eyebrows when they remove their veils and look in the mirror.

In real life, these bombings occurred well before suicide bombings became commonplace. So the women place the bombs and then get away.

man its better to stay away form women issue, to plucked eyebrows dont mean ur westernized, oriental women use perfume, luxury silk before western women know how to take her mustache, its the idea that those women will not be distinguish, second look the date when this movie came out

@MsFunbook Well actually, IIRC a lot of Muslim women don't pluck their eye brows b/c they believe it isn't allowed in Islam. Makeup too some are against for similar reasons.

@kruger97 It's not a drumbeat, it's qarqab, an instrument commonly used in Gnawa music.
